? Or atleast i think she does…
She’s really good. And a blast to play. But as far as tiers go, lets keep that talk to a bare minimum at least until after the game has been out for a while (at least after evo imo).
I don’t think one can say anything about Tiers at this stage.
Is the game gonna be released before evo? ok well lets say “i think she has really solid rush down”.
I think there will be a top 4 and a bottom 4
It’s worse than “top 7, bottom 1” but definitely better than “top 1 bottom 7” lol.
I don’t think there’ll be a classic tier list (8 chars just listed by their perceived strength) at all,
since characters effectiveness will rise/fall depending on their ratio and the assists etc
It’ll look smth like this:
S Tier: Parasoul, MsFortune(DP)/Peacock(ItemDrop)
A Tier: Peacock(ItemDrop)/MsFortune(DP), Parasoul(Flashkick)/Cerbella(Lariat)
B Tier: Parasoul(Flashkick)/Cerebella(Antiairgrab)
C Tier: Cerebella(Lariat)/Parasoul(Flashkick)
etc
The ratio system on top of custom assists will have the game take AGES to pan out a somewhat reasonable tier list;
we will have to see which char is best in solo/dual/triteams, which assists work best, who should be point char, etc
I guess there will be some really good combinations of characters with particular assists. There potentially could be dozens of them but before someone come up with next one people will be arranging those invented beforehand. Also some chars could be really versatile and have great amount of teams they could be used in. But even if some character can be potent like only in one team it doesn’t make this character weak - because she is still potent. So until someone wil find incredibly chip/overpowered/outright broken tactic - I bet on every character being good at least in one or two team setups.
I think zoning teams will only do triteams
I am disappointed Ms Fortune doesn’t have a “Rawr-cat Punch” super.
Or a Lol-cat punch.
Are people afraid of poor old Ms. Fortune or something? Maybe it’s just me but I feel like she’s gotten so little exposure, being drowned out in FNF’s by waves of Val/Cere/Filia/Pea footage (thats why I LOVED watching that SNCI stream, so much win was had there)
I feel like every character has a wealth of tech for us all to discover, but in particular I feel like we haven’t even scratched the surface with MF (u see what I did thar? xD). Even before she was drowned out of the FNF’s I feel like most of the footage I saw was just “simple mixup -> ground combo -> air combo -> Feral Edge”
Granted she seems like a very technical character, and people are barely getting deep into things yet, but very rarely did I see people even trying to use her headlessly, just playing her like a Iron Fist/Wolverine hybrid or something (not that that ISN’T totally pawsome).
Even when I did see her head being utilized it was usually just constant repositioning with f/b.H, no “OMNOMNOMNOM” or long range dp’s or wannabe Carl Clover blockstrings… I think the more we get into it the more people with realize just HOW MUCH utility MF gains from skillful use of her head, and that it’s not just a gimp to her normals and another way for your opponent to do damage to you
On the other hand it just makes me all the more hype to get this game and crack her open and find all the juicy tech I can… Can’t wait to play with an Eddie/Carl that doesn’t require constant Negative Edging, that sh*t drives me nuts… D:
This was also just an excuse to bump this thread up a little…
really?!
why do you think this?
I plan on playing pea/para purely on my love of the letter 'p’
but seriously i was thinking of adding on mf as my third not because i like the char, sorry guys because that 45 degree angle projectile looks like it wouldn’t be fun for the opponent paired with pea’s abilities
anywho i really just wanted to play the two because they appeal the most to me in a materialistic sense so i’m curious as to why it would be more beneficial to have 3 in your opinion
I don’t think it’s NECESSARY for a zoning based team to be 3 characters (though more assists definitely doesn’t hurt), but it DOES let you cover more holes in your keep-away game…
I’m thinking that as long Peacock/Parasoul should be pretty solid as a duo as long as you go with Parasoul’s Napalm Pillar AA assist to cover Peacock’s most glaring fault. As long as you’ve got a solid anti-air assist for Peacock I think anything else is just icing on the cake really
I completely agree with Fortune being ignored for a long time now. A while ago a guy complained that there wasn’t enough Painwheel and we proceeded to get Painwheel in every subsequent FNF after that. I made a little post in GD about the lack of Ms. Fortune and it fell on deaf ears. But I just think its because Ms. Fortune is going to be the hardest to play because she essentially has 2 separate play styles to work with. Also puppet charcters tend to always fall under the hardest character to learn category.
Though I guess none of this matters now because come next week I’ll be able to body(or head?) people with Ms. Fortune myself.
Might not want to use the word “head” in that case, seeing the general reaction to possible innuendos and the love for puns around here LOL
To be fair though, at the point when people were nagging about lack of PW footage, very little had been shown in regards to her high level capabilities, compared even to the bare bones tech people had found with Fortune already… So she kind of deserved some spotlight, we just got a little TOO much lol
I’m so happy to be able to play with a Carl/Eddy style character without having to worry about Negative Edging (not that it’s terribly difficult per se, but it’s a pain in the ass for someone without a stick unless you rearrange your button layout to compensate).
GOD, Watching CopperDabbit on that SNCI stream was just beautiful, proved that MF is everything I wanted her to be… now just to wait out this one last AGONIZING week.
What are her assist move options that you guys are finding useful?
Can you not combo after her LK/MK axe kick? I’ve been working on a combo that gets close to 5k but whenever I try it online the person techs out of the axe kick. Is that just me not being used to online or is it really not possible?
Haven’t looked through this thread, don’t care because my combo is swag as fuck.
Requires Head On **6841 **in 1v1
s.HK -> j.MP j.HP (dash cancel) j.HP -> QCB+LK (land) c.MP -> s.HK ->j.LP j.MP -> j.HP (dash cancel) j.MK -> QCB+HP (land) c.MK -> s.HK > j.LK -> j.MK -> j.HK -> QCB+2K
That’s half health on a solo character with 1 meter. This is day 1. Welcome to Skullgirls.
EDIT: My post was dumb, I wasn’t doing 1v1 but 2v1.
Thought I could do almost the same damage with a really simple combo, but it was 4.8k, nowhere near that.
