headless restand, works anywhere on the screen: gatling -> 2hk(1) xx 623lk>k, j.lk xx j.214mk (restand), 5mp>5hk -> stuff. i only tested on painwheel and double but the range of weights those chars represent should mean this restand works on everyone

midscreen you can do something like (head on) 5lp>lp>mp+hornet bomber, 623hk>k. the best thing is no matter which direction you choose, if they get hit they are sent flying in the same direction as you. sometimes the opponent will get sandwiched between you and double haha. getting cheaper with this catgirl

Also, has anyone else been messing with IAD j.MP xx qcb+HK as a combo starter? Seems like a pretty decent almost-instant overhead, and you can combo off of the hard axe kick without using up a ground bounce
Yeah, you can restand off that and get full combo into hard knockdown. But if you are worried about spacing so the j214HK won’t wiff b/c you’re too low, or messing up the restand timing, then just use j214MK. The j214HK gives you marginal damage gain over j214MK. Like it’s about 100 more damage on the combos I use.
Personally, I use IAD jLP/jLK>jMK>j214MK>Combo of choice. Faster and a little more damage.
MK and HK axe kick both work at the same heights, and starting with IAD j.LP/j.LK>j.MK xx qcb+MK/HK pushes the combo towards IPS faster for some reason. Plus, the j.MK will scale the damage later on. I personally go straight into s.HK after the axe kick, so I don’t worry about restanding there.
i tried to use the tk axe kick and been using an easy combo started with 2149 hk> c.mp> s.hk> j.lp> j.mp> 214 mk> 214 kk. does 4799. any criticism and feedback would be helpful!
Made some better combos than what I was using before. Tested on Painwheel and Double, so they prolly work on everyone.

I think you mixed up 2MK and 2MP
I tried doing 2MK to Parasoul midscreen, but it has worse reach than 2MP. Also 2MK does more damage in the corner like you said.
Lads, I need help with my IAD. The wiki says Ms. Fortunes j.HP is easy to IAD. Have any tips on when I should IAD with Fortune’s j.HP?
anyone notice you can dash through your opponent when they’re stunned by OMNOMNOM? It just confused the shit out of me today… I wonder if that was an intentional decision or not <_<
When you are close. I recommend the tip of a crouching LP or something, a range where the dash can crossup the opponent, but close enough for the j.HP to hit. Do it mostly against the shorter/fatter characters like Cerebella and Peacock, works best against them. You can also use it when you know the other guy is going to press a button (and of course, you know that button won’t hit you). For example, run up, hit cr.LP and quickly do the IAD. The opponent might try to press something to prevent any real pressure or just try to pushblock.
So you DON’T want to just go mindlessly IADing in front of the opponent to get in, you use it (mostly) after you get in.
If I were to compare it with anything, it’d be like short hop offense in KoF. Especially with someone with a good normal just like that, such as Kyo’s down+C.
On the other hand, Fortune also has a great IAD j.HK. It has a fucking huge hitbox. Works great as a poke, air to air and a better offensive tool for when you aren’t in position to crossup. IAD backwards, j.HK, call head, dash back in and pick up a nice fat 6000-8000+damage combo.
I was trying to do this combo…

… for an hour and a half. Throughout the entire time I was trying to perform the combo’s air dashes; there were 15 successful tries with no follow up. I gave up trying to perform the combo until another day.
I found it very difficult to IAD with Ms. Fortune but on the other hand I find Filia a bit easier. Maybe with a bit more practice I can get it down. If I feel myself around the combo I think I’ll eventually get it. Thank you so much for the tips. I’ll have to try the cross up, it looks like its a ton of fun!
Oops! Yeah it’s suppose to be 2MP there. Must of switched em up in my head when I typed it out… I’ll fix it in the post.
Edit: Actually it’s suppose to be 5MK for the forward movement it gives. I find 2MP to be char specific mid screen. Or my execution is bad. I fixed it in my post.
As far as executing it goes, try just tapping 7/8/9 piano PP and piano jHP. Not sure if this was the info you were looking for. I use it off of reset set-ups mostly, and sometimes in pressure off of 2LP/2LK staggers.
Personally, for dashing, air or ground, I do it with 66. Not that using buttons is any worse, but it’s pretty easy to time dashes like that by buffering the first forward and then hitting forward again the moment you want a dash.
For IADs, I use the GG method: 956. This way, it’s really easy for me to throw the normal out the moment the airdash starts. I still screw it up in some moments I try to set up some specific stuff, though.
So anyone wanna make a combo thread? I would make it but I don’t really think I’m qualified to do that.
Lol! I just found a video. It is rekkas into head into omnomnom restand and linking into normal chains that don’t trigger ips looped a lot. Looks like it does ~12k before the dhc. You can prolly get more if it’s optimized pre loop. Maybe even find a way to restand the ground bounce of j214P instead of using the otg. Time to grind i guess…

And it will restand on the j214MK if you delay cancel the K>jHP and PP>jHP.
This gets you to 5k before you go into ground bounce, and I think is easier than going from 2HK into 623LK.
Edit 2: Instead of the kinda strict timing to restand with j214MK, you can do j214HK. It will restand and ground bounce, which you can then 5HK.
the restand i’ve been fiddling with is j.214p (bounce), j.hk+6hp, (land), 5lp>lp xx lp rekkas into loop. uses up one of the ground chains but pretty reliable. if you really really need to stand them do 5lp>lp>mp xx mp rekkas. might be able to sub air chain xx j.214mk if j.hk is being watched by ips

Looks fine. Just one suggestion. After omnomnom, consider doing something like 5MP>reset mix-up unless the damage from the rekkas and supper will kill them. Or you really want the head back. But even then they could tech forward and pressure you before you get the head on.
