Says cgi was involved too. But they did really flop it in its side. Maybe some wires to pull it through. But it says they destroyed 3 cars to do it.

The series is known for being stupid, and fantastic excess in service of filming some of these stunts.

I thought for sure that safe was CGI, or an effect.

Then the next time I thought surely they wouldn’t go dropping cars out of a cargo plane. . . I was wrong.

The commitment to stupid and excess is. . . admirable?

So far the least believable part of the Fast & Furious franchise for me are the segments they filmed in cleveland. The idiots here can’t drive anywhere near that well, although they do drive “well enough” that I’ve seen a hilarious number of vehicles on their roofs. A sack of potatoes tossed on the accelerator would drive better than the average clevelander.

Fast and Furious is unironically one of my favorite film franchises of all time. It knows exactly what it is and doesn’t give a fuck about it because people who watch them love it and expect it.

Whenever people complain about it being “unrealistic” or “over the top” the F&F franchise goes “oh yeah?” and just leans in to the ridiculous shit they do even more. And guess what? The fans eat it up because that’s exactly what they want and expect.

It’s why we were from street racing to international heist team to street wise black ops team. Gimme more of that shit! If them going to space within the next 3 movies is true I want them racing shuttles.
