Depp made that franchise in a time when people didn’t make pirate films due to their lackluster returns (cutthroat Island). Let the franchise sleep for now.
edit - for perspective, I believe the 2nd Pirates movie was Disney’s first billion dollar movie and 3rd movie of all time to reach that mark.

Fucking reboots over the last 10 to 15 years or so. Hollywood ran out of ideas? Soon we’ll probably get a Star Wars reboot or a Matrix reboot the way Hollywood is going. The fuck outta here!
