well yea, ninja girls have a good lp and trip. but scorpion can still counter trip, and space enough and then teleport away to restart it. not saying he’d win the fight, but he has a better chance than the rest of the cast.

Grr…I was a HUGE Johnny Cage fan since MK1. Now I hear that there’s a competitive (kompetitive?) scene for MKII, and my main man is mid-tier, aka unplayable. Crap.
MagnetoManiac: Trust me, if Scorpion was so good against Mileena, HE would have been winning tournaments instead of her. Pure trash against her.

anyways lets get some light on this thread. is there such thing as rushing in this game?
all i do is basically turtle, anti airs. i know about jump crossups/barely whiff jump ins grabs/lp rush (with the right character) mix with trips. is there more to the game? or is it a matter of who just does those better?

You CAN rush in this game but it’s mainly once you are right on top of the character. A lot of characters have entended jabs that bounce you away from the person slightly, but take off more life than normal. The game is very defensive oriented, but once someone like Kitana, Kung Lao, or Mileena are on top of you, it’s very hard to get them off.
Granted you still have to play different against certain characters.
There is MKII, then there is playing against Jax, which changes the game, and forces you to play a runaway style even more, or try and guess when NOT to jump.
Mileena still is the best character by virtue of her ability to not get beat by everyone else. Jax only has a few matchups that are tough, Mileena has a few more that are more even.
In terms of two equally balanced expert level players, this is the ratio of a 10 game match in the favor of the better character so you can see the example of why Mileena is slightly better overall, even when Jax has better matchups
