Why is Stryker anti-Nightwolf?
I don’t know if anyone cares at this point, but for those of us who still think MKD is playable (I really don’t think it’s as terrible as many say) email/write Midway and ask them to pull an MK Gold —> that is re-release MKD without the step infinites, the Mileena infinite, etc. etc. I have already done so.
Even more important - ask for an arcade perfect console port of UMK3. IMHO UMK3 will always be the best MK game ever made. Write Midway and see what they say…I’m very curious to see if they’ll even bother replying to the somewhat-scathing email I sent them a few days ago… :devil:

…so if MKD is a lost cause let’s at least bum-rush Midway to get an arcade perfect UMK3 port…whether it’s part of MAT3 or whatnot I don’t care…
At this point my opinion of Midway is quite low, so (as I even stated in my email to them) even if a console port UMK3 is released they’ll prolly fuck it up. Oh well. :sad:
Maybe it has to do with Stryker having the lowest duck animation in UMK3. So he could avoid shoulder rush with ease. Actually, anyone can just duck or sweep shoulder ram. But stopping his rushdown is another thing. I’d also like to know why he is the Anti-Nightwolf. Please don’t let it have something to do with zoning out.
Im a mk fan but I don,t consider myself a mk fanboy. Im a casual fighting game player so i almost play all fighters. I like mkd and i belive its playable. I still have hope for the mk series.
Puzzle fighter is so addicting, i play it non stop…it’s that fun.
But what do you all think could honestly redeem MK to it’s old glory at this point?I’m going to get the game becuz my older brother’s girlfriend gave us deadly alliance free(it was a promotional copy,but she wasn’t supposed too as they save that for their VIP memvers,it was at Game Crazy’s if you all know of that store.)and she gave me 20%(which is her employee’s discount) off the GameCrazy exclusive Camo’ Elite with Sword figure.So to me,I should get it for that reason alone.After all I’ve heard about MK:D from both sides,I’m just not sure now.But I have some suggestions on what I think might help
1.Fire Ed Boon
2.Bring back John Tobias,or just get rid of Ed Boon
3.Arcade Perfect Console version of UMK3 WITH online play.
4.Fire those idiot testers.
5.Have people like Prophet,EWA,Colguile, actually have some say about what goes into the next MK game,they know MK better than it’s own creators -_-.
that’s all I have for now.BTW,I’m really curious,for the UMK3 tourney players.How do you compare MK Trilogy to UMK3.I’ve never had the experience of UMK3(but it’s top tier from what I hear) but I loved MK:Trilogy,it was probably my fav. MK game.(also the only appearance as far as I know of Chameleon and Khameleon,male and female respectively. :DIt also had every MK character up till then as playable characters. so what grounding is it on compared to UMK3?
EDIT: Just wanted to say how disappointed I am with what I’ve been hearing about Deception,that was a game I was really looking forward too as I’m a big MK fan since MK 1,I wanted this game even moreso than Halo 2. <_<
There are several characters who can duck Nightwolf’s shoulder tackle while blocking, but that’s if they are blocking as they are ducking. With Stryker, he can sit and block, and tackle will not hit him, so it’s as if you’re not even blocking, you can then answer the stupid tackle with ginormous combos. By doing this, you are nearly removing the tackle all together, and it is a huge part of Nightwolf’s mix up, example: opponent blocking, tackle, tackle, run in combo when they release block. This is something you see very often. Not to say that Nightwolf cannot beat Stryker, of course he can, he just has to earn it. The Riot Gun is great anti rush down for any character as well. What this does is makes the Nightwolf abuse the tackle less, therefore relieving some of the pressure.
Of course you can sweep or duck Nightwolf’s tackle, but just ducking it without blocking is dangerous, I’m talking about a specific scenario here. I’ll try and get a match recorded Stryker vs Nightwolf to show how Stryker can capitalize on Nightwolf’s semi-disadvantage, duck and block, no collision tackle = minimum 60% to Nightwolf.

It’s too late to save mk. Far to late. For us who’s VERY LAST HOPE is a the ARCADE PERFECT port of UMK3…It’s not going to happen. I can almost feel the dissapointment. If I have any hope, it’s that UMK3 will be ported and done right by another team.
Prophet: Tell Midway you’d work for FREE to test for them and maybe, MAYBE MK fans will have some chance of getting a good MK.

sup peoples its me darick… Uhmm… about mkd… i think its a pretty fun game… its not that bad considering all the crap that is in it… but still… if u are a TRUE MK fan… u shouldnt hate on any of the mk releases and u should appreciate all that they have gave us… I just started to get into mk and i love mk2 umk3 mkd and the puzzle on it… since the chess blows… other than umk3 and below being online cuz of kailerra… mkd is making a movement for the newer mks to come… all we can pray for is them not to be like mkda lol… and if i had an idea for a new mk… i would make… ULTRA MK ONLINE… bring back UMK3 2d style but with better graphics, larger stages, (my favorite) run button damnit lol, more combos, more moves, etc… but its ok… i will kill ed boon and take over his franchise… And make some tite shit for everyone and myself of course ^_^;; anyways…

why is umk3 favored over trilogy? because it was an arcade release and trilogy wasnt? im sorry but i totally threw umk3 out the window when i got trilogy. plus reptile > all

I’m not taking credit for anything, but I also don’t read anything about MKD at all except what’s posted here, and none of that stuff was ever mentioned, which means anything that I found was on my own as one person spending minimal time on the game, which means it’s way too easy to find broken ass shit in it. The fact that people reacted the way they did means a lot of this stuff wasn’t so well known. In any event, I just don’t like that game.
Yeah Stryker can no contact duck and block about half of the cast’s run jabs,(Shang, Sektor, Cyrax, Robot Smoke, Jax, Sheeva, Sindel, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Sonya) very useful, I usually knee him a lot with say H Smoke of Ermac and watch out for the gun/baton wakeups, then toast him with a 56%-58%er depending on my mood with Smoke, or 75%-78% with Ermac. This one guy I play online uses nothing but Stryker for whatever reason and is super defensive. He wins on average about 1 of 8 matches.

I’ll probably do the same if I ever get a PC. Nothing but Stryker. I’ll butter my toast with Stryker in the morning and butt sex him at night before bed. Thanks for the strats too.
You can get a really cheap high end PC off Northgate for about $600 w/monitor, $500ish without.
