Some good clips…your darrius isn’t bad,but if you want to get better i suggest you try some new moves and combos and even try with his different styles bud,you won’t get far by just repeating the same combos over and over,and i’m sure you know that,don’t take it offencive. :karate:

My two top characters right now are Shujinko and Kabal,trying to get better with havik also,hey if you wanna play sometime let me know enkidu,pm me.

Actually, you can be extremely good at this game using just a couple sets of moves with certain characters. Darrius and Baraka are a couple of them. Specifically, with Baraka you just need to use his throw, chop chop, sweep (blade form), and a,a,y,x,x (blade form) combo to win. You can beat anyone, it does not matter their skill level, with those 4 attacks.

all i am saying is that shinjuko has a far breaking combo then anyone else.
means the testers did not do a good job i mean if shins can hit about 74% to 85% on basic terms and the normal average highest for other characters is about 43% to 54% then of course the game will have problems.

if it was tournament game then u you may as well get ready all mk shinjukos lol

For some reason, the first time I played against Onaga, I don’t remember there being any Komidogu around on the pillars, is it possible they aren’t there unless the difficulty setting is at full? I haven’t bothered to try playing it again.

nice vids , maybe their not there till you complete konquest?(sounds absurd though) also i don’t see any coments about the arenas… i know that for tournament play well having a comeback cuz you got knocked down towards spikes sucks but alas in casual play it makes the game intresting and fun. any feedback on the arenas n their fatalities?

DA GAME wishes he did these combos.It’s a cat on mk5.org by the name of konqrr who did these combos.DG himself tried to do that Jade 15 hitter but no luck

All Darrius needs is Gauntlet stance to win, the other two stances are worthless.

I apologize if you interpreted what I said as implying doing nothing but those 4 attacks over and over again. But this is how the game works. You knock someone on the ground, you have immediate priority over them on their wakeup. Using those 4 sets I listed with Baraka (he’s one of many examples), you can beat the best people. I do it consistently. And that is how the good people in the game play. They play cheap by abusing a few sets of moves. Unless we’re talking about Scorpion or one of the few characters that actually takes a little diversity to play. Mix and match the cheapness. That’s what this game is. It only takes a few sets to do so.

I agree with you on the whole, Tenacious, about using the same few moves over and over, except I believe it is even more simple than that. This games seems to simply boil down to a toss-up between overheads (followed by something simple and unbreakable) and throws. If they do anything that isn’t crouching, throw (which works even better if you have people who can juggle after throws) and if they are ducking then overhead them as mentioned above.

Ashrah and Liu Kang are real good for this, I find. Ashrah is so fast with her moves that if you and the opponent come together and both try to attack, more than likely Ashrah will beat you to the punch and her attack wins. Plus she has the ability to juggle after throws.

But seriously, doing this simple tactic makes the opponent guess 50/50 over and over for the entire match so after repeating a simple tactic like this 4 or maybe 5 times, a round is over. It almost turns into a game involving dice…whoever can keep their success streak going the longest wins. And honestly it’s not like it’s real easy to see the difference between the overhead or throw when the opponent is right on top of you because it all happens so fast. It’s a guessing game. To me this installment of MK is quite disappointing compared to the old 2D versions. :sad:

Keep in mind, as I type this, I don’t even know these infinites that are being talked about. That Shujinko spear/freeze/sidestep/repeat thing is the first I’ve heard of stuff like this. I’m sure this only hurts the game more. I see no way this game can be taken seriously at all for online play. It’s too bad, I was really hoping this one would be something special.

aight i freed sindel, and then when back to the spot where all those portals to the other realms n shit are at…and onaga showed up and revealed that he was using shujinko all along and then he left…is that the end of that of konquest mode? what do i have to do after that? it just lets me roam and do whatever…is there anything specific i have to do? or is that the end of konquest mode?

You can go back to any realms to find missing keys to the Krypt, and also you have to unlock all 8 of Shujinkos moves, and his 3 finishers. Its also good for grabbing quick easy Koins in Konquest.

I feel like the series is just going to degrade until it isn’t even worth mentioning anymore.

I feel like Boon should throw this engine out and try something new. And fire the testers.

Leave out the second launcher and try and get the style change combo twice, it’ll do a lot more damage, 44% instead of 42%. What I was trying to go for with combos was more styles changes than were intended. Pretty much any long chain to launcher, repeat chain, is a significant amount of damage. Some characters have moves more abusable in juggles than others.

Also, I haven’t heard anyone mention this, but it seems easy enough to figure out. If you madly tap style change, and jump forward, while still tapping style change, you can then make your character double jump backwards, and they pretty much go entirely off the screen. This can be done by timing the mad tapping with the jump and then back, but you can’t get as much height. You can also use it as a double jump forward and literally get twice the air on a jump if you tap style change and hold Up+forward while jumping. Granted it’s a dangerous thing to do, but it’s still pretty neat looking.

Here’s an update on the Jade combo and the double jump glitch.

Konqrr’s come up with some really cool damaging shit, but the game seems quite limited already in terms of combo expansion. :tdown:
