Mortal Kombat, anyone?

What’s Kabal’s deal?

I thought the Tornado Dash could be blocked, although any good player would jumping HK, Dash, ground spikes, then whatever combo.

This guy’s a combo machine. He has lots of chains, but I still don’t see #1 overall.

I’ve only pulled off one Brutality ever. It was Baraka’s, and I couldn’t believe I’d done it. Once it was over, I wondered why I’d even bothered in the first place. There were 100 ways to see 3 skulls, 15 pelvises, and 36 spines. Out of all of them, the Brutality was perhaps the least exciting.

Kabal’s spin can be blocked. But it is very fast, and it has extremely little startup. Also he has good punches for runjabbing. And he has an air projectile that is nice and big. He is the top of the ranks because he has fantastic rushdown, and can still play good keep away, and while rushing or zoning he can punish the opponent any time they leave the ground. His value isn’t in combos so much as tactics.

Kabal is a complete character.

i always thought the brutalities were easy

kabal is fun to use, i keep doing dash with lk,lk,hp,hp,:down:hp,jump kick, air projectile. for 8 hits, its fun :wonder:

Mine

Jump-in HK, Tornado Dash, Ground Nails, lk, lk, hp, hp, hk, hk or down hp.

How many brutalities can you do exactly? Because I have trouble with most of them.

brutalities arent hard. its like someone said before me, getting dial-up down. keeping consistent input and ignoring what you hear and see on the screen. by the way, cool thread. i know a lot of people hate on MK nonstop, but i think its great fun.

Yeah, that’s the problem. I WANT to see brutalities but if I focus on the screen my hands get mixed. o_o

x_x

yeah…

Never was big on the MK thing… but I guess I aint alone in that.

Alot of people aren’t especially since they turned 3-D.I think eventually MIDWAY will discover what they are doing wrong with MK and revive the series.

Midway won’t do that because they sold tons of copies of the recent 3D MK games. From a business standpoint they already figured out what they were doing wrong and they already revived the MK series :-/ But only for looking at, not for playing.

Well, I’d rather gameplay than looks. Which is why many people still favor MK2, UMK, MKT, etc.

this is going back yearrrrsss ago, iv probably completed about 5 peoples brutalities

cant remember who though, think liu kang scorpion stryker mileena, this was when umk was out

I think Raiden’s was the easiest in MKT, but I might be wrong.

Yeah, I’d definately prefer gameplay which is why UMK3 is the only one I play. But I think good gameplay in MK was just a fluke. Something Tobias managed to slip in while the rest of the MK team was focusing on how to sell more units.

After I picked up video gaming again I went for technical game play wise.
It was totally different up to Mortal Kombat II.
There are some videos on YouTube showing combos,
however I do need more nowadays to keep playing a versus fighting video game.

We got ourselves Mortal Kombat because this video game was somewhat out of line with the other games at that time.
We choose it because of the visual stimulation, I am so ashamed of that now.
I find I should have gotten Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Warriors instead back then.
We did choose Mortal Kombat again with the second part.
And again just for visual stimulation, the fatalities and this time also Babalities and Friendships.
They are censored on the Nintendo Super Famicom,
so we had to get the USA or Europe version to get all the visual candy.

My sister even got the magazine Super Play, Issue 24, October 1994, especially for Mortal Kombat II.
Mortal Kombat franchise was not that popular at our region so this was our ultimate guide to the Mortal Kombat II game.

Until this day I can not get the Pong trick to work,
when the required parameters are fulfilled the game just freezes up.

Pong in MK2? Thought it was in 3…

You need 250 wins in the VS mode.
Takes a LOT of time.
I wonder if anyone ever played 250 consecutive times in a real arcade.

And that’s in 3 right? Because I thought you had to fight Noob by building up victories in MK2 VS.
