I love how “true kombatants” want fatalities and suicides. Nevermind the shallow 50/50 safe guessing game every time you got tripped in Deception. Or nearly every dominant poke giving you a free throw, which would almost certainly lead to an easy, braindead, infinite. Or at the very least give the person another 50/50 to start it all over.
There is no wake up in MK:D. There’s pray you guessed right so you don’t lose a round.
After reading many MK-related posts on this forum, I noticed that most MK fans only cares about violence and the fatalities.
Ed Boon must be happy, since all he haves to do is create more gory fatalities.
Some MK fans should pay attention to gameplay as well…
As someone who actually likes the 3D Mortal Kombats (well, actually only MKA really), I can confirm that neither the MKA Moloch infinite, nor many of Deception’s infinites, are hard to perform. MKA is a lot better than MKD since it actually has a wakeup game so that the game isn’t reduced to pray you guess right or lose a round. Still, it’s a 3D MK, and it’s still a much simpler game than other 3D fighters. Unfortunately whenever I try to talk about tiers or gameplay on an MK forum it just drowns in the midst of fatality discussion.
Also, when people say 2D MK is better I think they pretty much just mean UMK3. I wouldn’t really trust someone for fighting game opinions if they actually thought MK2 was a great game.
I didn’t expect to get flamed, but I SHOULD have explained myself first.
I haven’t played a 2D Mortal Kombat game. EVER. I don’t think Deception is a fantastic game, but it IS entertaining. I didn’t really know anything about it until Deception, and a few of my friends were hyping it up. I’m really more or less a newbie to fighting games, and I have no earthy idea what’s good and what’s not. I also really don’t post on SRK outside of this one thread. That’s my bad. Sorry about that.
Okay, now I’m interested. What’s Cooking with Scorpion?
Again, like I said, sorry for making a shitty thread. I didn’t know…newbie here.
Edit: Just watched the YouTube vid, freakin’ hilarious.
