After staying up all night (thinking this was a good idea, I do this every year) Fred arrived at my place for pick-up and departure to T7. The Loco-mobile was harboring the usual suspects: Freddyl0c0, PTS, Prez and myself. We hit the highway and it’s off to a weekend filled with Chinese food, Chinese people, Chinese driving and good times at Orbit.
The first stop on our trip was to eat and fill up the gas tank, and already we almost got owned. We take the exit that would bring us to a gas station and food joint. Like every year, it’s in some random small town (or as Phoun put it: Bucktown, CA)… The light for empty gas tank is on so we need to find a pump quickly. We end up making a wrong turn in the town and somehow get back on the highway heading towards Montreal. The fear of pushing the car atleast 5KM was almost a reality at this point. Somehow we made it back to the town running on fuel, made another wrong turn (this one wasn’t as bad as the first) and after taking the right direction we finally found our way to the gas station and a Subway. This is my first time eating at Subway… made out of a barn. I’m surprised there was no livestock living inside, this made it easier for us to order. After beasting Subway we fill up the gas and are back on track once again.
Montreal to Toronto by car gets shorter every year for me. After one quick stop for bathroom/drink and lots of nostalgia talk from Prez, we finally arrive at our destination. Fortunately the right exit was taken this time and we make it to Steeles/Kennedy no problem. T7 is finally upon us and we’re excited. We enter Orbit and once again meet all of our SF comrades. We’re the first from Montreal to arrive on the scene. Right away I want to start playing, as do the rest of us. After a few games we go to eat since the team tournaments are starting soon. For some reason none of the other MTL cars have arrived. This kind of messes up the plans we all had for the team tournaments, ugh.
Team tournament highlights:
-Phoun taking out YellowS4/JS Master/? to win the match. Dudley ou koi?
-Getting beasted by R4 K-Blanka. I thought this was a TEAM tournament?
Those two highlights pretty much sum up what happened all evening.
Deciding to leave when we are all eliminated from the tournaments, we do so and go look for a hotel because we are already so tired. Tony gives us the info and we rent a room at the same spot. Before sleep we hit up Tony’s room for some beer, blunts and some dramatic poker action. Feeling extremely tired we call it a night and get some rest…
Alpha 3 attendance was up this year… 22 people, more that super turbo and GGXX… Just a note I finished 3rd in the tourney but I only lost to Justin Wong. I lost to justin in winner’s semi-finals, justin forfeited to arturo, he came to loser’s bracket to beat me… and that’s it they finished 1-2 without playing each other. I totally knew they would forfeit the winner’s final and have justin conveniently lose to arturo to make sure they finish 1-2 and get the money. I can’t confirm it’s true, but they have done it many times in the past with Ricky going to loser’s bracket and killing everyone. I was a gentleman about it and politely asked Arturo if I can have a money match with him after the tourney to make sure I get to play him. It’s just funny because Arturo finished 1st in the tourney and he didn’t play the 2nd or 3rd placed person at all.
I beat arturo in the 5 vs. 5 and lost 4-3 to him in a money match so we’re 4-4 at T7. And I think I lost because of the sticks the 2P side wouldn’t block in the end and I lost a key match in that. Against Jwong I admit I was intimidated and for a guy who’s not an expert in Alpha 3 he doesn’t really make any mistakes which is good for him.
I’m very proud of my chun-li, I eliminated Mao, Veasna, and Paul Wall with her and I beat CB 4-0 using her. Mao don’t say Chun-li is cheap… you have any idea how ridiculous it sounds to call an A-ism character cheap when people have been complaining forever about V-ism being broken ?
Alpha althology will only help the game, and I see it being held in console version next year in ECC and Evo… But for now I will enjoy the scene here in montreal, if we could get one more regular player it would be perfect.
Right now our best bet is Sandman and Portos, SARS did well by practicing alot with the main players and if you guys join us we will have a great scene here.
Someone tell the guy at mira to fix the Alpha 3 sticks plz…
For normal clubs forget about asking A-kid, he’s into after hours mainly. Better to ask FreddyLoco

Normallement ont reach 10personnes sur 3tv quand je host,mais cetait organizer de derniere minuite…encore une fois

pour aller la apres un gathering? majoritairement mes amis sont trop “geux” pour aller la ou peut importe le night club…mais chez pas de votre side et apres avoir passer plus de 5hrs a avoir chaud a coter dun gars qui ce fait aller le joystick,quoi de mieu que matter des culs feminim?
lol! jai jamais dit que vous etes oubliger de jouer a GGXX/,si ont reach 10 personne je met 3tv sur…so ont peut tjr jouer a 3rd strike ou what ever. la limite de perso chez nous cest genre 15~ sur 3tv.(la 4e est achier…) le monde que connait sont tout des GGer…je conte 11~12players de GGXX,pis ont na jamais etait plus que 8 en meme temp alors ya tjr dela place pour dela varieter.La seul chose qui me fait chier cest le controller swapping pcq spas tlm qui use des sticks(loin de la…)…mais faut faire avec on est pas au japon…
Hoster dautre game cest pas un problem,bring it si je lai pas.
