It was great seeing everyone. Apparently the tekken players are organizing a tournament next month after EVO at 2000. They have some link to get the prices of the cabs dropped. If that’s the case I’ll organize our players and we’ll have another tourney. OOOOHHHH SHIIIIIIIT!
are you bringing your mvc2/cvs2/3s players too? that would great, but it’s gonna be hard to get those stupid 2000 sticks repaired. They haven’t been fixed since 2 months before MAT :rolleyes:

I forget the rest of the other Montreal players but big props to everyone. In case you don’t know, i was the asian guy with that wore a green shirt and hat on Saturday, and on Sunday wore the hat with all the NBA teams on it.

BTW, not to start any controversy, maybe on those lame cabinets you can say that Smokey was the second best in MTL, but according to the last local tourneys, he’s actualy the 3rd best.

I tried to be nice in the T7 Results, but I’ll be honest in here and express my frustration
So it all started when Veasna was about to rent a van one month before T7 and everybody was talking crap about going to T.O. for sure and supporting Montreal.
It turns out that nobody was showing up and that we didn’t need to rent a van anymore.
After dealing with last minute changes and having to convince Sam to come, I finally decided to go along with Mao/Sopek on Saturday. It’s never a good thing to travel the same day as the tournament, but I didn’t feel like staying too long in that stupid city.
Victoire decided to invite himself and get in Mao’s car, so we were 5 in that small car :annoy:
I have to admit that I was kinda worried about Mao’s driving skills and his old car, but he held that shit down pretty well, it took us 5 hours total to get to Pacific mall, including 2-3 stops.
We finally got to the Markham and Pacific mall area, every fuckin thing is in Chinese. Even though I didn’t go to any Pacific Mall store or restaurant, I’ve been told that whomever works there is a fob and speak to you in Chinese even if you’re black :rolleyes:
To me, everything sucked about that area i.e.: restaurants, traffic lights, bus stops, buses, signs, stores, parking etc except of course for the hotel room duh
Anyways, let?s get the arcade and competition part. The arcade was pretty big and there were 2 machines for each major game, which was very nice. Though, I felt like there wasn?t enough room for everybody to move around freely, they should have removed those useless games and some pool tables.
I tried playing mvc2, I decided to pick a rush down team (mag/sent/cyc) to fully test those sticks, to my surprise, I wasn?t able to air dash at all. I was getting beat up by Smokey?s brother ROFLZ. The sticks and buttons were so tight, it was very hard to have full control over your character, my left hand would slip from time to time. I was very disappointed, especially since I?ve been practicing on a TK5 stick for 2-3 months. Samnang and Smokey were also struggling. After a couple of games, I decided it wasn?t worth rushing on those lame cabinets, I somehow managed to win 4-5 games in a row playing turtle Magneto lol
After being there for about an hour and noticing 2-3 guys were missing from the mvc2 qualifiers, which got me pissed off, me and Mao decided to try to get some sleep in the car until the Hotel check in at 2 pm. We could only close our eyes and rest our bodies, but we were still tired mentally.
We went to the hotel room around 2:15 pm to check it out, rested for half an hour without sleeping and went back to the arcade thinking they would start early, but no, they started much latter than we thought, I was really pissed off.
Anyways, the tournament finally started, I was very tired. I spent most of the time sitting in one of those racing game chairs to rest my knees and my brain.
It was time for me to play my first round, in a mirror Santhrax match, I managed to win the first close game and beat my opponent convincingly in the second game when he picked a ?counter team? (cable/sent/capcom)
My next round, I had to play G3n from T.O. He was very consistent all week-end long having long winning strikes with his team row. He beat me 2-1. Both games I lost, I got hit by stupid dash in infinite, something I haven?t fell for in a long time. I?m not taking anything away from G3n, but things would have been different if we weren?t playing on those lame cabinets.
In the losers bracket, I had to play the guy from U.S. who placed 7th and eliminated Samnang. I lost 2-0 to his counter Santhrax team Cable/sent/capcom. I could?ve won the first game if his commando would have died. I hit him so many times until he had 100% red bar, but he didn?t die :mad: The rest was history. I could?ve picked magneto to counter his Cable, but it wasn?t worth it on those sticks.
Next day, we went to the arcade again, but I was more worried about leaving that stupid town than anything else. I played a couple of games here and there but nothing too serious, until I had to play Xecutionner for the first time, Andy was like you know who you?re playing against? Lol anyways, I picked Santhrax against his and decided to turtle. The fight between our Sentinels was very close and both our commandos had low life, but when it was time for a Storm vs Storm fight, I somehow managed to finish him off lol la chance. After that, I played him again, but this time with Mag/sent/cyc, but I got raped. His sentinel is too good and I couldn?t rush on those sticks. My best sentinel combo was sj lk, hk ROFL, I did it like 3 times in a row.
After the A3 5 vs 5, which we should have won, we went back to Montreal. I was so happy omg I couldn?t stay one minute longer out there.

- I finally got to see Jwong/Xecutionner/Arturo/Jeron/TFGM in person, I only saw them in videos
- Got to play so many good players, our MvC2 skillz need a lot of work.
- We were 25 guys from Montreal; it felt like we were in Montreal at some point.
- Smokey thanks for the lift, I really needed it.
Last thing I wanna say is that this is probably the last time I?ll be traveling for a tourney, it?s just too much for me to deal with travel issues and fatigue during tournaments. I?ll sometimes pop in for some mvc2 casual just for fun, but nothing to serious. Smokey, you?re probably the last mvc2 hope for MTL, keep up the good work and train our secret weapon. I could train your brother’s sentinel, but too bad he talks too much shit.
Oh yeah, if anybody needs my TK5 stick, I?m selling it for 50$, let me know if you?re interested.

Has for MTL getting “beasted” because of the cabinet c’est du talk shit.
Most of us have been practicing on jap stick and were alright on it. So if you were able to play during your gathering, I don’t see why you can’t play there.
Sure, it’s different but don’t tell it was a big of a surprise. Everyone adapted (though slowly) to the sticks… except for Veas the choke artist. 
Anyway, T7 was fun and some shits were wack but I’m not gonna bitch about them.
Nadir; I’m sorry to hear you had such a rough time. It looks like you really were better off rooming with me and a few of the other GTASF players as none of us smoke and when we hit the hotel it’s to drop for the night, not to party some more.
I can’t really argue the jap stick issue. It’s been done to death. The only thing you can do to adequately prepare for Sanwa sticks is to play on them. That means using and Agetec on Dreamcast or if you’re really stuck then use a HORI Real Arcade Pro. I owned a MASStick and an Agetec for years just so I could execute no matter where I was and it has paid off in spades.
I’m sorry you weren’t happy with the scheduling but I’ll be frank in saying you’re living in a dream world if you thought it’d start on time. No tournament save for Evolution itself starts on time. I’ve been to back to back MAT’s that started hours late. I’ve been to two ECC’s that started late. The T tournament started on time Friday (which shocked me) but couldn’t maintain it because the team tournies ran long (that’s what happens when you have to wait for Justin Wong in every game). It pushes everything else back and then you guys showed up on Saturday and had to wait. Personally I think that’s a favour in Sam’s case considering he had no experience on the sticks anyway and needed as much casual as he could get.
All in all the majority of players had a fantastic time at T7 and I did as well. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy yourself and it put you off travelling for tournaments again. I hope you keep playing Marvel though because we always have a good time coming to Montreal and our guys would like to play you again when we show up next.

day1: wake up since 5 am getting prepared …calling sopeak and then nadir …i got like 4 hours sleep only since i was so excited to get to toronto …i finally pick up nadir he didnt get a sleep at all he was so excited as well more then me i guess lol hahaha anyways i went back to pick samnang victoire n sopeak later after… actually we left montreal around 6h30 am …long long way to go!!!
people was getting hungry n tired after couple hours …nadir is about too take a rest area he needed to use the toilet so we take a break have some mcdonald breakfast and put a full tank gaz again… after the break we have like 2 hours to go untill toronto…everyone was falling asleep in da car i was sleepy too since no one help keeping me awake thank to your guys lol hahaha
anyways i was strong enouf to make it on my own …FINALLy get to toronto OMG so happy but i was so tired n sleepy my head n mybrain was out of use … so i decide to go chek the pacific mall and play some casal then later go get some rest in my car with nadir untilt 2 pm so we can go to register at the hotel confort inns later …eyes closed brains relaxed but couldnt sleep lol …anyways …
2 pm arrived me and nadir get to the hotel and register take a 30 min break lay down n relax what a nice feeling wow hehehe…time pas by so fast it was 3 pm already then i decide to go back to pacific mall hoping everyone is ready so we can start tourney OMg once i got there nothing start yet untill 4-5 pm …i was so piss i would stay more longer at the hotel if i knew …anyways
i couldnt play anyone …everyone look busy and people were evrywhere i cant barely move or walk …so i play some casual and make some wins of course !! hahaha alpha3 tournament started later on …i was so happy n excited to play finishing top 4 wasnt bad i was happy with it but only if i could play arturo or justinwong abit more im sure ill be able to wins but anyhow i lose GG to all those folks !! CVS2 i enter it as well … win my first match and lose later on …coudlnt really play on those stix event though i pratice it abit… i miss alot of stuff roll super n charging move lol bwhahaha!!! so i lose to JS master hahaha got to the loser brackets…
later veasna n jfl asked me to bring them to the beer shop they tauld me it would take 5 min from pacific mall so i bring them …on my half way to the beer shop nagata lock called me to go and play my cvs2 matches in the loser bracket …now i was stucks half way to the beer shop and half way back to the pacific mall…anyways we search fo the beer shop end up cant find it for about 30 min lost in toronto …nagatalock called me again and i tauld him ill be there in 20 min or so …anyways we finally find the lcbo stores …we buy some beers and alccohol i rush back to pacific mall…once i got there i realise i was disqualafied already i was like omg cant be true come on i was busy …so i talked to nagatalock hes the directors…anyways and some point i was disqualafied…but i end up coming back to the bracket coz the guy i was supose to play again forfeit …so everything was oki at that point …but anyhow if i was out of cvs2 veasna would have to pay me back lol coz of him n jfl that why i was disqualafied
all tired all pissed off needed some sleep so i couldnt play well, think well , miss alot of charge n super and no mind game at all hahahaha lol
anyhow and overall toronto was good n fun …good jobs to the people who organized APPLAUSE! nice seeng ya n playing yall…hope u guys come to montreal
