well actually, there have been cases where people have just asked, and have gotten a name change too. no premium or christmas required

penguin-something(120?) made a thread in GD by accident asking how to change his name, ended with him getting it. heās been here since 2000 iirc so thatās probably why.

I think it would be good to give users the ability to close threads that they started to avoid a infraction/ban.
They could just delete it.
