Modding SF4 for PC (No DLC Unlocks!)

locate the character’s CMN.EMZ file you wish to use the moves from. (in this case I wanted Akuma’s moves so I went and located his file “GKI.CMN.EMZ”)

you extract the DAT file from cmn.emz file

open the DAT file in any hex editor

scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list

there will be 7 entries with the character’s letters (in this case its GKI)

replace GKI with the letters of the character that you want to use Akuma’s moves with (in this case its RYU)

So we replace GKI.skl.emo with RYU.skl.emo and so forth.

EDIT: I just tried these online with my friend and it didn’t work for me online.

There must be more to it than that. I’m crashing like crazy.

the ultimate hack would be a way to save replays of versus matches. If someone did that, it would be really great. Its got to be possible since you can save online matches…

I just record them using fraps. For those who don’t know what fraps is. It’s a cheap program that allows you to record in raw video anything on your computer(with the exception of a few things) So I just either watch the replay or record in real time.

Personally I don’t care about showing off that I beat someone. Kinda redundant.

For those who wanted to know if Ken and Ryu would get a messed up if you swap them… They don’t. It’s almost a perfect swap. Just missing a few textures from each others move list.
