Modding my Hori EX2 Stick

hehe this thread makes me wanna battop my ex2 mods as well. what do you guys do for the spring? the ex2 stock spring seems light for bat tops.

hey guys, again, this thread made me wanna mod the rest of my ex2 casings lying about… i went for a challenge and mounted a seimitsu LS-33… basically just counter sinking some screws. theoretically this will also allow for LS-55/56/58 to be mounted, but you would need to cut a hole on the bottom panel because of shaft issues. either way, here’s a photo of it:

Hey Guys!

Thanks again for the kind words. I’ve been away from this site for about a week now because of life and I’m just now checking in. So sorry for my late reply.

You’re correct about the spring. It does feel a bit light or soft for the stick. I’ve been playing SSF4 quite a bit with it now and even though I’m used to it, a bit more “snap back” would be nice. I might look into changing the spring for a different one soon. But its perfectly playable as is right now. It would just be icing on the cake really.

I do however really like the added height of the bat top though. The throws are longer for fireballs and shoryukens, but thats a sacrafice I’m willing to make for the extra height. It took some getting used too, but I love it now.

Also, to mount that stick into the case, how much room would you need in order to not cut a hole in the bottom of the stick? I’m thinking that instead of just cutting a hole, what about trying to add a spacer or washers or something to the screws which hold the bottom plate on? If its only a few milimeters, I’m sure you could drop the bottom a bit and still not have a huge gap.
