Alright, before I begin, I’m referring to this thread: forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/92494/paewang-revolution-mayflash-modding-tutorial-ver-laugh-lots-of-pictures/p1
to what I need help with. I don’t know if anyone can help me out here and I’m not really sure if I can post onto this thread (totally new to this) but I seriously need some help. I’m desperate. Here’s the issue:
So, I’ve been debating on whether to buy the Mayflash PS2/PS3/PC stick
or the Honcam PS2/PS3/PC stick
.
I know that they’re almost identical but the layout is obviously different. I’m really leaning towards the Honcam because of the layout (it also has a “Home” button which is a plus) but I want to know if I can apply Laugh’s method of modding on to the Honcam. Keep in mind that I’ve never modded before so I want to make it as easy as possible.
If I stick to the Honcam, I was thinking of using the same buttons he used, 10 Crown CWB203C buttons, but I’m not sure because I can’t find the button spacers. If I can’t find them, I think I’ll use 10 Sanwa buttons instead and as for the space, I think I can expand the holes to properly fit them. As for the joystick, I want to use a Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK. Will it properly fit though? In other Honcam mod threads, a hole had to be made at the bottom of the case to make enough space for the stick. I REALLY want to avoid that.
Also, I really want to use his button harness etokki.com/Paewang-Button-Harness
and JLF harness etokki.com/JLF-H-Wiring-Harness
for convenience; again I’ve never modded before, and to compensate for the Honcam’s extra two buttons I was thinking of adding two additional wires since the button harness only has 9 wires. I don’t know if that’ll work though.
But, is this good? Can I do Laugh’s method on the Honcam? Will I have to do something different? If it doesn’t work out, can it work with the Mayflash instead? And how would I go about that? What about the Honcam’s PCB? Where would I have to solder? If I go with the Mayflash, do I have to solder just like how Laugh did? I’ve checked other threads and they’ve provided some information but I just want to be sure. Sorry for the mess of questions, but I seriously don’t know. Seriously, sorry again. Like I said, I’m totally new to modding but I understand bits here and there and I really want to try this out. It’s interesting and it seems like fun.
Any help would seriously be great though. Thank you!
**P.S. Sorry if I posted onto the wrong spot. I don’t know where else to ask that will produce some answers. **
