Yes, it was harsh, but it shut down bad behavior. That’s entirely the point. The rules are rules. If everybody did what he did, the site would be unusable. I didn’t even bother asking for the ban override for a week because he did kind of earn that time-out in his understandable overenthusiasm. :sad:

is probably good for him to look through. I’d advise him to post in ONLY this regional forum (no other regional forums) for a while and very judiciously outside of this forum. He’s loved but on a short leash. I figure he was new and excited and that’s excellent and we all love that. He fucked up once, that should be the end of it because he seems like a nice guy that simply didn’t know that posting the same thing everywhere was a path to having the mods hate you. So he should be much more judicious in his posting outside the Northwest forum at this point because it can take a while for the other mods to learn to love you again. (Note I didn’t ban him: he simply heartily angered the other mods.)
Or even, better, to totally forget who you are so you’re on a clean slate. 
Note that when people want me to reverse bans, it’s generally not going to happen until after that person spends time in the penalty box, as was the case here. But you all probably figured that out already.
