Hey mike. It’s cool. I’m spending a lot of hard time on it to help our high low mix up. Just asking for a little help because i don’t understand so it’s much appreciated that you’re doing so even though you aren’t a fan of it
Updated again: Super Street Fighter IV/Juri - Shoryuken Wiki, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Strategy and More!
I almost can’t believe I just did all of that. I’m pretty much done with it for now; I’m not filling out the ‘Matchups’ section because I don’t feel confident in my matchup knowledge.
No need really people would sooner come here id imagine.
Found some more otg jstrong setups.
Rufus: crumple > schk fadc jstrong
Gouken: chp xx fireball fadc jstrong
Gouken: air to air j strong > jab fadc jstrong.
Not much going on here. Working on a write up for instant overheads (fuzzy guard) and gonna make a new thread for it with an explanation and a lost of setups. Look for it. Hope you all get involved in the exploration of this.
Tried Jstrong setups on wakeup on Gouken and Rufus, divekick followup whiffs after the instant overhead, i lol’d, bit useless on Gouken anyway what with parry. Dont think an FADC reset is the pinnacle of meter managment especially on a crumple where you get a free combo anyway. On Rufus sweep and then 2 forward dashs to J.Strong hits the standing frame all the time, thats an example of automatic timing imo, not that its worth it lol whiffed divekicks.
the juri forums don’t seem as lively as it used to be =(. guess it’s because everyone ( including myself ) have been training on mvc3 as of late.
The place tends to be quiet in general with some spikes in activity every now and again.
Myself, I’m generally more of a reader than a poster. I do continue to play Super but not as much, its kind of good the points are being reset in AE, means I don’t care as much about my points in Super anymore ( though I would like to have 2000+pp by Supers final day. )
Apart from that, college and MK9 have being eating up my time of late.
As for me and AE, my intention is start off with Juri but I’m making no promises to keep maining her, Oni has me interested and I’m still interested in giving the 3 bastards of AE a try. I’d love to main Juri 100% but I feel like that I’m going to need to main another character in addition to her to counter the 3 bastards of AE.
Who will that character be? I don’t know right now. I do know that Ken, my vanilla / scrub days main, has gotten some nice buffs in AE and I enjoy using Bison as an alt in Super but like I said, I’m still going to give the others a try and see how I feel.
That said, I’m still looking forward to AE and seeing Guile and the other annoying characters getting castrated .:badboy:

About rufus the same thing. Did you try it? Use a jump back and it works. Also a reset.

That’s lvl3 with ultra.

With the reset.
I think that’s a significant difference.
It is hard to invest in fuzzy guard stuff when two of the juri players I listen to the most are on opposite ends of things. Maybe I need to not be a follower and just try it out and see if I like doing it myself, eh?
Okay, if anyone cares to know about how long they are standing when they are waking up, this is the result I got. I dont know if this result means what I think it means but here goes:
First let me explain how I did the test. I used a program pad. The thing with the program pad is that sometimes its off by a frame(or less but enough to have different results) but mostly its pretty consistent. So step “9” can sometimes hit meaty when set to 22 but its like 1 in 10 times.
First thing I did was pause the game, so that the programpad’s frames are in sync w/ the games frames(I dont know if thats actually true)
- So the first step was the start button to unpause
2.then wait 19 frames - Here I press down+sweep for 2 frames, only the second frame actually counts. If you have a button held down after an unpause, it will come out asap
- then I wait for 37 frames for sweep to recover
- 2 frames fwd input
- 1 frame neutral
- 2 frames fwd input, frames 5,6,7 inputs an fwd dash
- 24 frames wait for dash to recover
- 23 frames hold forward to close any distance not covered from the dash
10.input down+LP
Step “9” is the meaty timing. So then I added 1 frame to step “9” so that the cr.LP hits w/ its 1st frame on dummys first frame. Thus making it 24
Then to check how long they are standing, I incremented step “9” until the dummy is no longer standing when hit. That result is “9” = 32. So frames 24-31 represent his time standing.
This was checked using Abel as the dummy, could be different w/ other characters and I’ll probably check that later. Now the question is, how much of that standing duration is actually hittable by a fuzzy.
With everything I would try it for yourself. Try a few setups, get the timing down and try them in matches. Once you make proper reads and get the timing down to a science plus who they work on and what situations to use them in I feel they’re really good.
I personally think anything to blow up an opponent for blocking is worth it. Why would you not use something that is a 9 frame overhead that leads to ultra? I dunno. That’s just me
Fuzzy’s are are by no means useless but they are not that practical. There really are only a few general set ups worth noting and the execution can also be really tight.
IMO it doesn’t make Juri any better of a character and you can get by w/o using them just fine.
I must disagree though. They are very practical if you are a user of Ultra 2. If we are talking about the use of them vs characters such as zangief or thawk, then I might agree. But vs some of the cast who have very non-practical reversals like abel, rose, or viper, you can teach them to block very quickly and then punish them.
With a character like Juri who doesn’t have much come back potential this could be the difference in a match, especially since some setups RESET the damage scaling.
The most general setup is J.roundhouse > J.strong. The timing for this is VERY easy to hit once you practice it. I also use sc.hp > sc.mp > J.strong vs Viper and the timing on that is easy. Its FSE only but I’m a fse user…so thats fine with me.
The whole point is not to discredit them so quickly. Try them in matches and find reasons to use them. I recently started using them after ex kasatushi > crossover roundhouse. When people get hit by it you can confirm it into pinwheel. When they get cocky and start blocking, you can blow their blocking up by using the fuzzy guard.
The whole point is not the damage imo, its the fear of getting hit by someone when blocking. I’ve made players stop blocking low and block high…which i then punish by going low xx fireball fadc j.strong reset.
Try them, and really keep an open mind. I’m sure you can find times that an opponent will be blocking low and get blown up for doing so. I personally have found great promise in them and I’m currently trying hard to impliment them into my gameplay. Thats just from my use of them.
Anytime people turn to me and go “Yo thats so unfair” or “Yo that shit is broken”, im happy.
Juri in AE move up on the tiers ^.^. Does anyone know if our points restart or it stays the same amount?
Restart if you play AE but on super they stay the same
Sweet I guess I’m heading into the Lab and looking for a training partner.
Trying my best to train as hard as possible for UFGT. You guys got any juri training tips i can focus on and which match-ups i should focus on too. I don’t wanna amass a huge amount of notes, because after this tourney super is history so…help please! Thanks everyone.
Give me an example I’ll offer some advice.
well i dunno what i should focus on more. I figured start with basics and work on bnbs and connecting pinwheels of a successful poke. Also was wondering how i could implement my newly learned combos in a match. I rely only on online matches as most of my scene is busy with mk or mvc3. So i’m stuck with online and i feel that it degrades me and makes me play more savagely then i’d like. Also i’d like to know which characters i’ll run into the most at the major? Thanks kail you’re awesome btw =D
