Wasn’t aware of the last episode was like a 2 part or whatever.
Didn’t see any talk about part 1.
Yeah the big finish was a really lame deus ex machina, but what can you do, the primary audience is still little girls.
The rest of the episode was fucking on point though. If there was ever an episode to show a non-brony, the A Canterlot Wedding two-parter is that shit. So much of the finale really captured why we love this show and ran with it.

I liked the episode, a lot. The second half felt rushed but what can you do, time limits
If they introduce the 2 new characters a lot sooner, maybe they’re would’ve been a lot better dramatic build up.
That way, when something did happen to them or they did something “out of character” it would’ve been more of a shock. Instead it was like “yea… that’s cool… I guess” and then they played the best song in the entire series.
Ending was too perfect, imo.
Reminds of how some of the rainbow bright movies ended after they killed off the villains. Except, the song at the end was 1000000 times better.

So, the changelings looked fairly pony-ish when they weren’t morphed into something else. Does that make them the fifth race (counting alicorns)? And I hereby put a kibosh any talk of Shang Tsung style characters in the far future of this game because that would just be silly.

like a follow up attack to a knock down state? It could mimic her 1st appearance with rain and have a super version with lightening.
Or maybe a homing cloud (just above normal jump height) with 3 follow ups when she stomps on it depending on enemy positioning.
- (foe otg) rain could deplete enemy meter and alt there stand state with a puddle.
- (foe under cloud) lightning could do stun and/or damage with a reset state.
- (foe over cloud) a cloud dissipating stomp sending enemy to ground with a hard knockdown.
I’ve never seen a rainbow bright movie but the RB characters keep me thinking of the old sailor moon movies mysis would watch. The ending music is definitely sailor senshitier. :tup: but in english

I actually like the direction this is going. In fact, having weather control be Rainbow Dash’s magic be pretty cool, like if RD is in the air and her opponent is in knockdown, an otg lighting bolt (a la Ky) gives a magic bar. Rather than be her level three, the Sonic Rainboom could simply cost three magic bars, not unlike Twilight’s “I can’t control it” move.
I should stop speculating though, because then I’ll find myself being unhappy with whatever the mane6 team comes up with, and that wouldn’t do them any justice at all.

I think the finale is a big step up when you look back at when the show first came out. For some reason, it’s hard for me to see it as a kids’ show, mainly because of the dialogue and the voice actresses.

That’s some high quality dialog there*. *Maybe if the villians had more depth into there motavies, than I would agree. However, this is just as “crazy” as any other kids show, really. I don’t understand how people defend specific scenes and go on saying, "And this call this a kids show?!"
Well, hate to break it you, but yeah! Have you seen older episodes of MLP? Some of the shit they do, they would not dare air now a days. And Rainbow Bright is another example, WTF @ that shit!!

So yeah, bit late on the commentary, but yeah, season finale was pretty awesome. Still wish they would a bit more drawn out battle with the villains instead of them basically getting their way one scene, and then being shot to oblivion 5 seconds later, but all in all, very satisfying end to the season.
Funny how the finale has produced both my favorite song in the series and my least favorite song.
