I actually had some doubts as to whether he was being serious or not, but in the latest livestream they did confirm that Mr.Wizard did contact them. They didn’t mention what he said though.

Paper, I’d be very surprised if any of the characters you assume will be added don’t make it. Other than that, mane6 has confirmed that there will be nothing from season two in this game and they don’t have the means to do alternate costumes (these are 2D sprites, not 3D models after all).
And some theory fighter:
A couple pages ago there were some posts about AJ’s lasso being tech-able. As long as ground techs are throw-punishable (I believe the stream showed that air-techs are punishable, so I think ground techs would be as well) I don’t see that as much of a problem for AJ since she still gets to force a guessing game with high potential payoff and builds her magic meter. If anything I’m concerned that it only seems to hit if the opponent is a specific distance from her, regardless of whether or not the animation connects. I’m hoping it’s one of those things that “looks unfinished because it is” and will get fixed. Personally I think it should work like Maori’s whip in AH, only leading into oki setups instead of combos. I can see how requiring a specific distance is good for balance if it’s unblockable, which I think it is right now, but it just looks really weird when it whiffs.
This is the only thing I wasn’t really sure of. If they’re not throw invulnerable, then it’s really pretty good for AJ.

I foresee some interesting fan works coming from this one, and not just fanfiction. Confirmed the existence of a Cerberus who stands at the gate of Tartarus (part of the Greek underworld) where evil spirits and demons are locked away. Also a nice Prince of Persia reference.

I found the new episode pretty amusing, as I have a scar on my left cheek and wear an eye patch over my right eye, as did Future Twilight.
Fluttershy. Twilight is neurotic as hell. 
I suppose either of them could be best pony in a world where Rainbow Dash didn’t exist.

So who do you guys plan on maining when this game comes out,
I’m pretty damn hyped for Rarity atm, I’ve been liking her character more and more lately. Plus her moveset in this game looks really technical, like I’d have to try harder to win. I want to use a character that I’ll be using for a long time.
RBD maybe… but all the characters have different things that appeal to me…
Probably be like SSF4. Use everyone pretty decently, around 3 well, and 1 main. But always stick to the main for competition. No me gusta on counter picking.
It’s possible. If one episode uses more of the budget than expected future episodes can get toned down to compensate. Or they might be trying to save money now so they can spend more on the finale. Also in the last few episodes it seems like half of the Mane 6 got reduced to cameo appearances. That might make sense in something like a CMC episode where the Mane 6 aren’t that important, but that should be the exception rather than the rule. When Derpy gets more screentime than the main characters something is wrong.
Hard to say right now. We still don’t know anything about Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy, other than that they will have some sort of feature based on their wings. Based on what we have right now I’m leaning towards Twilight.
