Anyways im looking to main twilight due to the fact that I like that form of playstyle, mixups resets oki type who once you get really good with you can just flowchart on scrubs lol and once you get to high level play it really shows how good you are as a player…
I know rarity is going to be a zoning type and applejack is going to be ground based rushdown im just wondering what other types are gonna be in and who you guys are gonna main…

I like having moves that just rush in, chargin the move waiting for the right time. Pinkie Pie seems to have that kind of move (Her cartwheel), i like how it’s got an overhead version. But I’m also a fan of AJ’s bionic farm super, seems like a good punisher.
If the game is released, they need to re-work that move Twilight has where a page from her magical book slowly drops down and hurts the opponent.
For one, a lot of character will not have an answer to this move unless they can zone themselves, so that’s going to be very annoying to work with, especially with how slow it falls.
Not only that, but once it hits the ground, the move is still active. If that’s not broken, I don’t know what is.
What’s the downfall and NOT spamming that move and running away? Even if the hit box for the move was too small, the other character will need to find a way to get in, and what’s stopping Twilight from anti-airing you and throwing out random ground pokes, the magical page will just protect her.
In Daemon Bride, a game full of fireballs, there was a character who had a similar move (except once it hits the ground, it disappeared). But it made sense, cause in a game like Daemon Bride you can dash through fireballs or have way to counter against fireballs. And even then, the move was still considered very, very strong.
She also has a teleport too, Couldn’t someone just be an ass and teleport away until their magic is full?
Teleport can be fixed by adding recovery.
That normally fixes any kind of infinite mobility.
I think I remember mane6 showing some combos that involved teleporting to continue the combo, I think they plan to have it be overpowered.
You can script it to where the mobility version of teleport is different from that in doing it into combos by using it as a follow up.
Not a hard thing to balance.
I thought the paper trap that stayed out costed magic. Though Twi builds magic so fucking fast, if anything needs a second look it would probably be that.
Speed don’t seem to be the problem. Maybe have things cost a lot more since some of her spells seem really strong.

Prominence will no longer be part of the development team. No more “NO WAIT STOP NO STOP GETOFFGETOFF WHATAREYOUDOING WHATAREYOUDOING” on livestreams. He will be missed.
On another note, the team plans to release footage of an even more updated build soon, probably after they chose a Rarity actress.

My heart nearly stopped when I read the message I almost thought the project was canceling for a bit. Agree with xblueblastxx very bittersweet, Sad that someone had to leave the project and I know it will throw it off a bit but it’s great that were getting updates now first broNYcon now rarity theme and voice going to be shown and more footage im so hyped for this week now.

And it’s obvious Applejack is going to be OP coming out the gate. I bet she will be able to lasso grab twilight right after she does the floaty paper trap. I can’t wait to main her.

As the palette person, this also made me want to kill people. We have thought of this though, and it’s made some of the later characters slightly easier to work with. Only slightly though, the problems still exist unfortunately because the limited hue/variation was only PART of the mixing problem. Other problems include the fact that green turns to grey at the drop of a hat, and some colours that mix become grey brown far too easily!! Unfortunately after 1200+ sprites already imported we felt it was probably too much work to go back and redo them all of the already done characters. We’ve done the best we could given our constraints!! But yes, know that every single random pixel in an eyelash is like a small dagger in my heart.
