Ah, completely agree.
It’s hard to tell what exactly is the main chores for whichever instrument. Basically, from the stat of the song to finish, it feels like it was taking different paths of how the song should go (like if the artists wasn’t too sure how they wanted the song to turn out).
And yeah, the sound differently needs way more balance.
I wonder what program they’re using to make the music… fruity loops?
Eh, I like how the themes are in different styles myself. I think it conveys more about each individual character than trying to shoehorn them all into one particular style.
That’s not the issue being addressed.
In all honesty, it isn’t very difficult to make this kind of music (due to sound quality, I can only assume they’re using something like Fruity Loops, but who knows).
Both songs have a really mis-guided direction on where they are going, making them both inconsistent.
Knowing that both songs are in the same game just seems a bit off.
EDIT: I will say that, the only reason AJ’s theme sounds more consistent is because they used music samples from Winter Wrap Up and kind of remixed it from there.
Twilight theme’s sounds like it’s all over the place.
I must be the only one who thought of Guilty Gear’s Zappa when considering how Cutie Pox Applebloom would play like =P
…and Pinkie Pie’s ‘dieing inside’ when her party didn’t cheer up Applebloom was priceless XD
I am deeply concerned about whether or not this game will be designed to be playable on keyboards, and consequently, hitboxes. I wouldn’t want to be playing it on the native controller of the platform knowing that I possess a LZR Suit like advantage over the joystick-using part of the community.
More seriously, are the tweened animations rendered into bitmap frames that are used when the game is running, or is the game engine directly invoking Flash and having the animations tweened while the game is in motion? If it’s the latter case, I’m curious if that brings up any issues/challenges for making the play online.
Some animations look more tweened than others (Rainbow Dash’s idle stance comes to mind). Others look more traditional, like that one gif of Rarity that was posted a few pages back. Maybe a mix of both.
Since they’re using a premade engine, Fighter Maker 2002, I’m pretty sure it can’t handle flash. It’s safe to assume it’s all rendered to pictures first.
