Look, I find the show funny and charming, makes me laugh the same way Dexter’s Lab and PPG and all that shit used too, but god dammit why is all this “brony” shit so necessary? I don’t remember people getting all creepy and weird for any other of the cartoons.

Hey every substantial fan base has those sick people, not every brony whacks off to pony pornography, Most don’t. Now can we stop the hating and talk about the actual game. I mean how the hell does a MLP fighting game on a fighting game forum turn to this?
Being a Brony isn’t being ‘creepy and weird.’ It’s just a term for people in the fandom, nothing more.
The reason why the fandom itself is bigger than previous shows is partly because of the internet being bigger than it was when PPG was around, and the fact that MLP has truly helped a lot of people grow in many different ways, on top of the fact that it’s a great show on its own. People have been inspired to create things because of the show. People made music, art, videos, stuffed toys, clay molds, fan fiction, video games, entire sub-communities for just about every medium you can think of. All these creators have been inspired from the show in some way (Mane6 developers included, now leading to this awesome fighting game), some of whom have said they haven’t had anything this inspiring in a long time.
Whether you care about the fandom or not, or are willing to affiliate yourself with it, it’s a respectable community built on commendable values and principles. Most of the haters are too superficial to understand what has really gone on under the surface, looking only at the show itself and the brand name. What happened from this show, like it or not, is kind of awesome.
The ‘brony’ community exists because the community is actually active, not to mention one of the friendliest communities I’ve ever witnessed anywhere ever. Having an entire fandom based around the ideas of friendship helps into that factor, for sure.
There’s nothing ‘creepy and weird’ about the community itself. Sure, you’ll find creepy and weird individuals in the community, but that goes for just about every community. The community as a whole is great, and to me, inspiring.
Just IMO though. Whatever you want to think is fine. You don’t have to be a brony to like the show or anything.

Fighting games have taught me that friendship is overrated.
It’s not overrated, it’s magic.
Somewhere along the line friendship became associated with weakness and being soft. Those qualities don’t go over well in hyper competitive communities, especially with the anonymity of the internet. That’s why I think this game is so interesting. Chances are if you go to the trouble of playing it you’ll be both a fighting game fan and a fan of the show. You have enough blood lust to want to curb stomp your opponent in a best two out of three double elimination format, but you’re also a fan of a program conflicts with the personal bravado that comes out in one on one competition. Unless you’re The Great and Power Trixie.
MLP:FiM player that spits mad game shall now be known as ‘so Trixie’, especially if they are a scrub.
