Do you guys think the 3-man rotation will hurt/help New York? For some reason I like it even though the stats are point to “don’t do it.” I know Matrix probably will disagree with me b/c stats would be on his side.

While I admit that the Yankees have a superior bullpen to the Red Sox, the “Going into the 9th inning with a lead = win” logic was also the norm for Papelbon. This Angels lineup can still win them ballgames in the late innings, even against a guy like Papelbon.

The last time the World Series wrapped up at home for the team with homefield advantage? 2003. I miss when the series would occasionally reach 6 games.
Eh, history is on the side of the Angels in the last decade. Angels seem to be Yankee kryptonite in the playoffs, having knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs twice in 2002 and 2005. Angels running game also gives the Yankees fits given that Posada is not exactly the best defensive catcher.
Angels probably have better starting pitching than the Yankees from 1-5 when healthy, but their bullpen is suspect this year. I’d expect to see Ervin Santana or someone in long relief when Kazmir blows up at some point.
Angels can score runs, I believe second to the Yankees in the AL this year. It’s going to be tight, but giving it to the Yankees based on bullpen.
