Wow. All sorts of “reveals” coming along. It’s nice to see new designs of Goro and Ermac. Sonya looking masculine still is a plus. I think by now, it’s a staple of her character. Still waiting on Baraka…
It’s interesting that the MK website’s officially “revealed” Shao Khan(though, we knew he was in from the trailer) early, and now we’re apparently getting Goro early, too. Hopefully the MK team does what most fighting games are doing nowadays with their bosses. Have a boss version in story mode/arcade mode and a toned down version for versus play.
I doubt they’ll actually do it, though. MK’s “monster” bosses always have to have some bullshit mechanic where they can’t be thrown or combo’d properly no matter what mode you’re playing them in. I guess if TvC has people playing the GIANTS in tourneys then maybe the MK bosses won’t be so bad.
i could do without them being usable, but they should be at least in the game for the story/arcade mode. boss chars aren’t really even fun to play with, they’re just big and boring.
I put “revealed” in quotations since I don’t really consider it to be a true reveal, but on MK9’s official website, they’ve got “character pages” and Shao Khan’s one of them. No screenshots or videos, so that’s why I said “revealed”. You do get a character model, though. Same thing with Raiden, but we knew those two were in from the get-go.
