as far as the cyclops stuff is conerned, it’s not really something that can be explained, a lot of it is just on the fly stuff that I do when it seems right. People say it’s random at times, but it works. I gotta get my pushblock xx genesplice down better… such a pain in the ass, especially on loose sticks.
But a lot of it just involves keeping them in blockstun as long as possible, baiting into Genesplice, and going for tickthrows, empty jumpins into assist throws… shit like that. You really just need to realize what options you have with your cyclops team, and know when you can use them. I posted in the Cyclops thread a bunch of stuff that you can do with him and Sent drones. And that’s not even everything you can do with drones. Launch combos knock down into drones relaunch infinite, he’s got a lot of comboability. He’s got stuff jsut like mags, 1 clean hit into infinite into reset (solo or with assist), it’s just harder for him to get that first initial hit, which is why you need to keep the pressure on.
From my personal experience, it’s easiest to get that initial hit after you get them to block a cyclone kick xx MOB or a connected GS xx SOB.
Let me point out that this was not just discovered… it’s been around for some time already, and you can actually thanks Andre of NY, whose screen name here on SRK is Demise. He posted about this about half a year ago, so if you’re going to give someone props, give it to him. Just do a search for his sn and look at his posts.
The psylocke reset was invented by TmD, who showed it to Soo when he came here to AZ back in Oct. That’s where you saw it from, I’m assuming MegamanDS?

Another thing… I don’t think it’s possible to do the semi-infinite with sent in the corner for more than three or four reps simply because of the pushback the hits generate. I modified it to where it works, and though it’s harder, it’s a sure way to stay close to them if your execution is up there:
launch, lk, fastfly lk, hp, unfly lk, fastfly lk, hp, unfly lk, fastfly lk, **unfly lk, fastfly lk, hp, unfly lk, fastfly lk, unfly lk, fastfly lk, hp, **repeat bold.
Was gonna mention Demise about that pseudo unfly thing too. Anyways, it’s kinda interesting to build a team around Cyke instead of putting Cyke into an AA slow, because it opens up your opitions. On point GS is so good you don’t need another AA (Since there are four ranges for GS! OMG!) but you can’t still use AA. Drones are by far a must for Cyke though. And since Cyke AA helps Sent’s fly combos, they just gel.
What about ticking into the command throw? Like, make 'em block drones and command throw so that the throw will hit RIGHT when they leave block stun. It should be inescapable, or at least, all they could do is counter out or pushblock, and pushblocking might not work all the time in a corner. Another little trick that could work/help out.
The best thing Cyke has going for him are a million tricks and the ability to suddenly shift gears ala storm. Cyke gets the lead? Cyke runs away and keeps it. Cyke needs to get in? He can get in. He’s extremely mobile.

PS: How the FUCK does Cable catch run away Storm? I play scrub or Sent/Cable/Cyke and my Cable catches storm better but… I’m pretty sure I’m doing something retarded.
Against a solid Storm, it’s getting harder and harder to catch her with Cable… otherwise you can pretty much catch the random scrubs who sit in the air all day and build meter with sj.fps and hk grens, I would think.
I think that in the realm of Theory Fighter, Viscant’s old team Cyclops/Storm/Commando makes more sense than it really should… but against Magz? Why isn’t Julius playing this shit, haha?
When using Team Scrub and having Cable What do i do besides jump up shoot grenade and sent drones,cuz thats wat i do when i play and mostly players catch up of wat i do,do i have to be more random with cable,and 1 more thing when the match starts is it a bad idea with cable to back up? Any tips?

Back-dashing at the start with any character isn’t safe, if that’s what you’re asking about. I’d heard down at Cali that if you were going to try it with anybody at all, you’d try it with Sent. But if you got your Evo DVD in the mail, you’ll notice Mixup’s Mags comboing into snapback Kuan’s backdashing-at-the-start-of-the-match Sent. So… : yeah, you can backdash or walk backwards, but it isn’t completely safe, and it cost me a couple (casual) matches down at Cali before I figured out it was better either just attacking or standing still and attempting to block it all.
Mike, how did you combo into a snapback against sent dash back? Anyway give me some guarantee ways to punish (switch trick) sent dashback at the beginning with the dirty one? Thanks in advance!

you can also switch glitch your magnus with a dash forward and either
c.lk,c.lkXXsnap *actually works because people are usually still dashing
jump straight up fk+assist
slide+ assist
dash in wait, counter assist and rush
lotsa stuff to work with.

Who fares better at catching run away Storm, Sent or Cable?
I do better with Sent because of random gunshots and nades, but I’m sure that Sent would probably be the better choice. But isn’t he more likely to get shorted into a LS?
I can’t rely on my expert use of capcom’s assist to get her down, so… Help!!

Good Morrigan moves:
air soul fist
low roundhouse (superjump cancel, airdash down jab)
stand fierce xx either soul fist or jab dp depending on what they do
jab dp is a great move. Psychic DP days are here again
jump roundhouse is a slept-on move. Very good.
Her stand and air jabs have surprising priority. Try them.
DP super is good frame kill. You have to be fast though.

his fp is good to smack the ho, bait out lightning strikes and fly around her using capcom. Just don’t get retarded and try to attack over and over.
I figured as much too, I just wasn’t good enough with sent to make use of it.
When people rush me down, they tend to run into AA assists a lot. Especially Capcom. (Unless they’re playing MST, then they don’t run into him so much.)
How would you suggest learning to recognize and block assists when rushing down? (I don’t have this problem. I’m EC. I don’t rush down. )

With Storm… exactly how useful would you say it would be to set-up a reset game around launcher /\ sj.hp, ad d/f+lk, lk? She doesn’t quite have the options Mags does, but as of now my Storm game revolves around running away to get meter. Once I get meter, it’s baiting into them chasing and getting hit with lk, lk, LA xx LS xx HSF. Or random s.hk + Capcom AAA xx Hail Storm.
Now that I’m actually able to somewhat consistently wave and tri-dash, I’m trying to work in more run away. Unfortunately, my only resets are:
launch, /, lp,lk,lp,lk, ad d/f, LA the other way xx LS
launch /, lp,lk,lp,lk, float to other side, lp, LA xx LS
launch, /, sj.hk, ad f, lk, lk, float to other side, lp, LA xx LS
launch + Capcom AAA, sj, ad f, LA xx LS
The 4th is a set-up for the unblockable/cross-up LS.
I’d like to have a bit more variety to my game than just patient run away
OH! It seems that with Sentinel, after doing the LS xx HSF, doing s.hk + Capcom AAA, magic series, dp+hp does the same amount of damage as s.hk, sj.lk, fast fly, lk+Capcom AAA, hp, dp+hp. At least it did to Cable in training mode. Just thought I’d throw that out so I wasn’t just begging for help
