Mississauga September Thread

We’ll definitely all miss having you around man. Its honestly really depressing thinking about how many friends of mine are just gone, leaving to uni and college. Keep in touch though man once u come back to sauga to visit and have a great time at uni =P.

Keep the stories commin lol

I wanted to wish good luck to everyone that is either enter Univesity or College for the first time or going back for their next year of studies. AFAIK, Hayvren is the only one that’s going into residence for his first year so I’ll give you a bit of advice that you’ll hopefully heed but will most likely ignore:

Please make sure to try and balance life. University can be difficult under regular circumstances but residence is like a sensory overload that can and will make you forget your studies. There will always be a party, a random event, a girl, a drinking contest, etc… but in the end never forget that you got into that residence because you’re there for school. Keep it together, even if the balance isn’t exactly 50/50 between fun/school and you’ll get the most of your University experience.

Gerjay; you need to party more this year.

I’m not really leaving anywhere, but you never know what life brings and just want to say thanks to all of you for all the memories not just this summer but throughout the whole time we’ve known each other. SF brought us together and we shouldn’t let it just die out, i’m glad I got to know y’all! <3 Uni here I come…

yeah, not going away till next year, but watching close friends just bounce off to uni/college is weak. remember to stay in touch and visit every now and then.

poeta, whats the deal on that house.
gerjay, party more.
hayvren, watch out for the dirty chicks, dont get burned.

Yea, fuck im going back for a year, but all of my friends (in my grade) that arnt lazy, are actually going away, so it kinda blows. Keep in touch all, at least keep ur avs in the sauga threads, and my casuals wont be stopping anytime soon.

p.s. oh yea, gerjay, u definetly need to party more

I was randomly thinking about what I want to do with my life today on the 1 and a half hour drive to my fucking moms house…

I think I wanna be a fire fighter lol. God damn I’m big enough and strong enough to do it. It would make me feel great saving people. You make great money with a lot of time off. They only work 4 days of the week and the benefits are godlike. They pay you to go to school for it… which is fucking fantastic. I just dont know if I have the mentality to deal with it if I have to like… pull a dead body out of a burning out house a mangled body in a car wreck.

I’m seriously considering this shit and wanna know what u guys think. Do you see me as a fire fighter? Before today I always assumed I’d take on my dads business and be selling shit all my life, but I dont know if that kinda thing is for me either. I gotta make up my mind soon though…

gimme some feedback PLEASE.

poeta, even though you’ve easily got the build for a fire fighter, i really dont see you being able to handle the toughness of the job. mind you, i have no evidence to support this claim, i just cant see myself doing that kinda shit so its sorta something you gotta figure out for yourself. if you cringe at the sight of dead animals, id stear towards something else. however, that being said, you’ve got good people skills so i could definatly see you being a salesman/business manager.

so summarize: obviously only you can make the decision. being a fireman has great benefits, however keep in mind being a fireman can also be EXTREMELY dangerous, the last thing i wana do is attend a friends funeral before their time.
ps. firemen get SOOOOOOOO many bitches, as long as you arent socialy retarded…or asian(small penis).

lmao james.

Yea it can be a dangerous job thats for damn sure. You have to have a lot of requirements to be a fire fighter too. I was just looking into it.

On average they only get about 2 fires a month that they attend, and 90% of them are small and typically nobody is hurt or dead for that matter. They basicly sit around and play cards most of the day and 90% of their job is actually getting to emergency medical calls before the ambulance does doing first aid and CPR if thats the case.

I dunno… basicly you gotta be in good shape and have the requirements to do all the first aid and CPR stuff. I just signed up to go to this fire fighter information show that they got going on the 27th of the month. If I like what I see or hear, I’m gonna go through the training that you have to take (through york uni) and get in shape. Even if I change my mind after the fact, its all good lol. Once I do that and if I still want to get into this kinda career I’m going to take the first aid and CPR courses that I need to take and apply i think.

I dont cringe at the sight of dead animals I clearly can handle that. The only thing about this that I’m worried about, is pulling half dead or completely fucked up people out of car accidents or stuff like that. I personally think I can handle it. I mean clearly it will be gross and shit and fucked up to do, but I think the fact that u save people would bend the scale a little more and it would make me feel a lot better about it. I cant really say if I would be able to handle seeing that stuff of not because I havent seen it.

I looked at how much they make though, and what benefits they get and its so great. Basicly if I work there for 30 years, I would get retired right away, by that time be getting paid almost 150g a year and once im retired it stays at the same wage till your dead. You also get insane insurance for family members and I think thats something I really want as well. I’d hate to run my own business, fail and have my family go to shit cuz I couldnt cut it and make enough money.

Being a fire fighter to me is a great oportunity if I can handle it, and it holds a secure and well funded future. Not to mention, making tons of money doesnt come from working your ass off in most situations. It comes from real estate and other financial investments.

Fire fighters work 4 days, then get 4 days off. Typical 8 hours shifts and that would leave me with enough time to work on maybe a small business of my own that I like doing to keep me busy and make some extra money on the side.

There are just so many pros to the career choice and not that many cons. I kinda always wanted to be a cop too, but they are looked down on by so many people and that job is way more dangerous. I dont think I could live with myself trying to save people and risking my life to have piece of shit kids look down on me every single day. Not when you risk that much…

I’d do it up for sure.

The only bad part is the summer time when u have to wear the suits in the heat.

Firefigthers also have insane benefits, and their salary increases constantly the longer they’re on the firesquad. I researched it before randomly when I was bored.

What do I wanna do?? Find some land and grow weed :karate:

hahaha nice nice

EDIT: damn the firefighters recruitment process is ended for 2005. If I get into this shit it wont be for like another year. I think I might just stick to business shit if thats the case. Im not gonna wait 1 year to find out if im gonna like that shit or not, then go back to were I am now. I’m gonna just go to sheridan i think for business admin, make my millions selling people shit on a stick and retire at 26

peace

Or you could always work at sky box and give quarters to all the lil kids, especially the next poeta jr. who beats your record for banging the machine infinite :pleased:

I’d like to add:

Remember you’re there to earn a degree/diploma/whatever so you get better job prospects. If you want to have fun, you don’t need to pay thousands to get a chance to do it. You can just drop out and party and go to clubs everyday until you’re broke and need to live on the streets.

In my first year, I met a bunch of people that seem to have no sense of direction in life. They just go to uni because everyone is doing it.

Also, every damn person has post secondary education nowadays. It’s not just for the smart and hard working people. Having a degree doesn’t totally help you. But not having one will most likely make it difficult to land those dream jobs (unless you dream of mcDonald’s). In the end, charisma and ability matters the most so don’t go nuts if you don’t need straight A’s.

Get a job. Unless you’re in engineering or some Einstein program, you should have enough free-time to get a part-time job. And save your damn money now. Especially if you are borrowing money.

It might be wise to look at what happens AFTER post-secondary education NOW. Look at any designations you might be interested in getting and look at any grades/employment/extra requirement. DO IT NOW.

Well I’m not your dad so I’ll shut up now. The funny thing about uni/college is that all the advice you ever need is given to you BEFORE you start. But a zillion people throw the advice out the window and cry about it in the end.

well, u sound convinced, id go for it man, good benifits, good pay, good hours and what not. And ur set fer life. At least try it out, go to skool and see if its rite for u. As james said, we cant tell u if u should or shouldnt, u need to go out and figure that shit out.

ok HUGE edit, i wrote the post time ago, but just now did i read the part where u said hiring is done this year if thats the case, maybe business is better.

One of my boys is going for firefighter as well, you have to be REALLY fucking tough man endurance wise too… I know you got Strength Poeta but you gotta be conditioned in terms of Endurance as well. Also, colleges offer Firefighting programs you shoud look into that. It’s a good occupation… lol Poeta in those calenders ahahahah.

Its ok bud I’ll leave that for u to do ;).

I’d never let myself end up like that, ever. No matter what it takes id NEVER let that shit happen to me. I plan on going somewhere with my life and I know for a fact that I will. I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but I have the determination I need and I grew up around 2 successful business people and I know what it takes.

So when I’m bored and retired at a young age and wanna blow some of my cash at the arcade with my crazy son that bangs the fuck out of the machines that I could pay for with the change in my pocket, remind me to give you a tip when I laugh and ask you for some quarters champ.:lame:

  • I’m being dead serious when I was talking about what I wanna do for a career and I was looking for some positive things to hear from people on how they see me playing things out.

So if you were kidding about that, no harm done.

If you weren’t, go fuck yourself

EDIT:

I know you gotta be insanely tough endurance wise. You need to pass tests before you can even get on your probation period. I’d start taking them now and it would give me the motivation to do it if I had a goal like that. I use to work out every day with friends but then I moved back down to sauga and had nobody to go with, so i stopped. I wouldnt have a hard time going back to the gym every day with some motivation or just someone to go with me. I’ve been asking people for time about that, just havent been able to afford it having my uncle as my employer and not giving me a consistant schedual what so ever.

Also I know about the courses, and thats why I was going to persue this quickly. The thing is, like I said, they are closed for recruitment till 2006 which would delay me going to college for at least half a year on the hunch that I might like it. If i were able to go to some of the classes they have going now and they were recruiting now, id probably change my college courses to something that applies to this situation. Thats the whole conflict which it though, the fact that they arent hiring anyone else right now. They said an update about them hiring more will be available at the start of 2006, which means its also not sure thing.

I’m still looking into the milton area and a few other close places that I could work at to see if they arent full up. Meh we’ll see what happens i guess lol.

Just work at it man that’s all i’m trying to say not tryin’ to hate,… it’s just HARD. Honestly If you decide to train let me know 'cause i’d be interested… I don’t want to be a firefighter but wouldn’t mind being tough as one. Does Sheridan have a firefighting program?

Edit: You better start running right now

Yes they do according to one of my friends. They wont let you in unless your on the list of possible accepted people though. So its a waiting game.

Shu, if I dont get more work with my uncle in the next few week, im quitting and getting a full time job doing anything and I dont care what. As soon as that happens, regardless of my bills and debts, I’m getting a gym membershit at premier fitness i think. Its really close and its the best one around I hear.

I’m so motivated I went running last night and today in my basement. I like working out, its the best feeling second to sex once your done lol. Makes you feel great. The only problem is money, motivation, and someone to do it with to make it not fucking boring.

I’ll keep you posted on what I do with the gym… im even gonna ask my dad to lend me money to get a membership there this week.

sorry poeta, i wish being a firefighter was in the cards for you, but sometimes we arnt dealt that hand

have fun at uni/collage all attending, try and remember your uneducated friend afrer the school year

Im going to be at emtc today around 12 if any one want’s to play.

Anybody else going?
