Don’t pay it… they will never do anything more than charge you interest and then you just dont pay that. My dad told me theres no way they would be able to collect from you if you just kept not paying. Do what you want though… I got a ticket in montreal which isnt a toll and its in the same country and I never paid it. I never heard a single thing of it till this day.

Dude whats the difference? My dad hasnt paid a ticket he got from another province his whole life. He was the one that told me to do this. Not to mention its a traffic ticket. The only thing that can possibly happen to me is I get fucked if I get another ticket in montreal. Which I’m not worried about because unpaid parking tickets dont mean shit. If it was a large speeding ticket that would be different. Isaacs bill isnt even a ticket. The 407 isnt even owned by Canada. Even if Isaac comes back down and gets pulled over the cops cant even check if he has unpaid tolls for the 407. They arent going to hire a collection agency to get a few bucks from some US resident that drove on the 407.
They never even sent me a second notice of payment for my 30 dollar parking ticket. You think they would bother sending something to collections when its such a low amount that they don’t want to bother sending me paperwork to collect? Suuuure buddy. They know they arent gonna get the money and they know since its a parking ticket they cant do shit.

Issac’s bill, if it goes unpaid will lead to big problems. 407 makes it very clear that they will bill people from out of country because they were losing millions in revenue from people who were coming in and out of Ontario and using their private service. Trust me when I say that they will keep charging Isaac interest until it becomes truly worth their while to send a collection agency for him and fuck with his credit rating.

Poeta is right in that a parking ticket can not effect your ability to drive, at least in Ontario. There’s a catch though, if he ever goes back to Quebec and has any kind of traffic violation, whether it’s parking or speeding, they will impound his car until the prior violation has been paid plus a fine.
BTW; just because you don’t get notices doesn’t mean that a credit rating isn’t affected. Don’t fool yourself into thinking just because you don’t see it that it isn’t happening.

at rogers, no one went to collections until rogers felt that the late charges were high enuf (ranging from 250- 1000$)

Yea it could be a problem if i went back to quebec and got a ticket your absolutely right. I’m just saying the 407 wont do shit if the bill is ultra cheap. If its like 10 or 15 bucks like I would assume it is, I highly doubt they would take the time and paperwork to keep comming after you for it. If it was a large amount I would pay it though.
Also, the fact that they didnt send me a second notice is a huge factor in what I was talking about. I could easily say something stupid happend like “the ticket must have fallen off my car because I never got it” or " I paid the ticket in full " or some other crazy story. If I said I paid the ticket and was never informed for over a year that the ticket wasnt paid I would win in any court.

You think a PARKING ticket for 30 bucks without me getting a notice of no payment on it will do anything to me if I get pulled over in Quebec? It might give me a bit of a delay but they wont end up doing shit. Worst case I have to go to court and eat up the courts time with bullshit and get off without paying anything regardless.
I’m guessing that means because they never received payment.
I’d be careful about the ticket though Chris, my last ticket clearly says that if payment isn’t received in due time, it would be forwarded to credit etc.
And about the 407 issue, isn’t it all automated, making the actual value of the charge insignificant? And if they let everyone go who owed 10-15 bucks, i’m sure that would add up.
