as for selling it my friend has coerced me to giving it a LITTLE bit more time before I throw it to the wild lol, thinking I might have just been picking bad characters. Sorry for the outburst post, I’ve just never picked up a fighter, spent 4 hours in training mode learning characters and then not being able to do A SINGLE THING with ANY OF THEM. It’s an odd feeling.

Just registered for UFGT8. Is there anyone I can talk to regarding carpooling/rooming there and whatnot? I’m trying to make it out to more of the GNG events but that’s getting difficult to do right now.

So in the interest of seeing what characters can do, I’m running through everyone’s trials… and… well… is there some secret to controlling the direction of Vega’s Flying Barcelona?

For example: cr.lp, cr.mp, ex flying barcelona. I’ll hold down+forward, then move to up+forward, but I go flying off the rear wall. I thought maybe it depended on whether I was chaining or linking the cr.lp, cr.mp, so I tried it both ways… same results. I thought maybe it was spacing dependent, so I tried it from point blank, from half a square, from one square and finally from maximum range, but it still seems fairly random. I looked at the inputs for a cr.lp, cr.mp, ex barcelona where I went forward, and one where I went back, and they’re the exact same.

Any ideas?

down-back to up-forward has worked wonders for me, never have issues with it not comboing with this method

It isn’t spacing dependent, you can do either direction from full screen (cross up sky high claw for example)

Ha, yeah. Trial #14. And I think I figured it out… it looks like even though the game was registering up+forward + KK, I was getting a trailing neutral up jump, which somehow took priority? If I hold up+forward until I’m bouncing off the wall, it works.

EDIT: … and I have no idea why I didn’t try that first.

With both his Flying Barcelona attack and his super, it doesn’t matter which direction up (up-back, straight up or up-right) you hit when you press the button, it’s what you’re holding when he starts moving (forward or back/neutral). This is especially relevant during his super freeze since the moment when it chooses the direction is after the flash. It looks like you figured that out though.
