I realized last night that every time I win a round against a Sagat player I say “Yea, bitch”.

I won’t be at that one so if he comes ya’ll better defend the fort >:/
Yo guys, trying to level up in AE before friday and got a few questions.
In videos I see Akuma do a lot of c.lp/lk c.lp c.mp tatsu. Is this not a solid string? I think it was Punha telling me some strings leave holes. When I do it to Ken he can SRK after my second c.lp even when I’m fairly positive I timed it right. Would it be more solid to do c.lp c.lp link a c.lp tatsu? I sorta resort to just doing the 2 pokes then blocking to try to bait the srk mash for now.
Are risking reversals the best way to get out of rushdown? If I just hold block to try to weather it I eventually get thrown, and I just had a match against Ibuki where the pressure seemed to be infinite. hithithit crossover air knife repeat.
To get out you have to block the knife – watch her feet after neckbreaker. If she steps forward before jumping, it’s usually a crossup. If she doesn’t, she lands in front of you. Learn the difference between her normal and super jumps also.
P.S. Consolidated my double post: Anyone know where to pick up SFxTekken early in the Twin Cities area?
When do you get out then though? even if you know she is going to crossover there isnt much you can do because by the time you block the knife she is hitting you and starting over.
It sounds like she is getting a knockdown every time. you have to block the knife and the subsequent block string. After that you are good. better answer: teleport away. Ibuki might be able to option select a neckbreaker, but I always test what my opponent know early in the match.
If the c.lp x2, c.mp, tatsu is hitting the opponent, then assuming you time it right, it will combo and they can’t do anything. However, I presume you’re talking about using that string and the opponent blocking it. In that case, it’s what I mentioned before. There is less hit stun when an attack is blocked than there is when it hits which means that stuff that combos on hit may leave holes on block.
In the case of Akuma’s c.lp, it’s +5 on hit and +2 on block, which means the opponent will be in hit stun for 5 frames after you recover if they get hit, and only 2 frames after you recover if they block it. Akuma’s c.lp has a startup of 3, while his c.mp has a startup of 4. This means that in both cases if the initial c.lp is blocked the opponent will recover before your next move hits allowing them to perform an invincible reversal to hit you.
It sounds like you’re doing the right thing though when you catch them mashing a reversal like that, by doing the first two hits and then blocking. That is a very legit tactic and one that I do fairly often. Obviously, you’d probably want to neutral jump instead of block against a grappler, but it’s the same concept.
Yea I totally understand the hitstun blockstun stuff, I’m talking about even when I hit he seems to bust through, hmm.
If that’s the case, then you’re just missing the link late. Linking a c.lp instead of a c.mp makes it a 3 frame link instead of a 2 frame link, but it also opens up the possibility of cancelling the last lp instead of linking it. So if you do the last c.lp slightly too early you won’t be able to cancel it into tatsu.

is there anyone here who knows how to drill holes in thick plexi glass? I need a new plexi for my custom arcade stick, but I don’t have the skill or tools to do so. if there is anyone here who could help that that would be cool ( I will also pay you too)
Bah, to much stuff still giving me trouble that I wont figure out before tomorrow.
So sometimes people just focus the entire match and I can’t touch them, but when I try that people just jab right through, like jump in, break armor, jab before attack comes out. Do you have to jump in with a light hit then follow with a jab to break through?
Rufus rushdown, what the fuck…
Ill think of more as I lose more
Rufus’ rushdown is hard for me to deal with, too. I played Tones’ Rufus, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so utterly helpless. As for focusing through jump ins, etc, I’ve gotten hit by that so many times that now if someone does it once, I just use demon palms.

Are there any Xbox 360s in the Roseville store for the casuals/tournaments or is it still PS3s? Have there been any converters released?

Almost always all PS3s for casuals. Tournaments are always on PS3. I don’t know about converters I don’t play on pad. Someone else could probably field that better than me. You’re talking about using an xbox controller I assume?
