Running Marvel 3/5 would still run faster than the way street fighter is played right now. If marvel was run like SF4 all the complaints about its high variance and “randomness” would disappear. It’s not like it would take long anyways SF4, MvC and MK9 tournaments all run 2 or 3 times faster than smash tournaments do and people manage to run doubles, singles for both melee and brawl at single one day tournaments. The only thing holding MvC back from making this change is an archaic system and lazy TOing.

I can understand 3/5. Then, I’d probably make finals run 4/7.

couldn’t possibly agree more with this. unless I’m mistaken, the most recent NCR only had 3/5 for grand finals. what the hell is that? If I had my way, it’d be 3/5 for everything, and then 4/7 for top 8/finals at every major.

I’m gonna spend my Evo weekend watching the tournament, and sitting at work, pretending to say sarcastic things to customers (like responding to “Do you have a restroom?” with “Nope, that BIG-ASS SIGN that says ‘RESTROOM’ is just there because it looks cool”).

Hope to see some Minnesotans on the stream, somewhere. Preferably not playing Marvel, I’m gonna miss a fair chunk of that >_>

Good luck to team MN at EVO! And a special “Good Luck” to those unfortunate pad warriors whom of which cannot use their ps3 stock pads. Seriously, that’s the ONLY reason that I don’t feel AS bad for not attending this year.Stupidest rule I’ve heard of. That’s like saying “Hey! We’re having a photo contest, but we don’t allow you to use your canon lenses with your canon cameras. Sorry.”

I don’t understand why they don’t just set up a de-syncing station like they had at previous tourneys. They allowed PS3 pads at EVO '09 when I was there and also last year. Big disadvantage for a lot of players. Hopefully that doesn’t destroy the performance of too many pad players.

Anyways, good luck MN! I’ll see you on the stream (hopefully!)

He gets bg ups in the credits at the end too. It makes me cringe though when someone is framed as a wide eyed newbie and the question is asked “where are you from?” “Minnesota.” I purposely said “the Twin Cities” rather then Minnesota when I was asked the same question at an ECC in Jersey back in the day. This was followed by the best question ever for that particular answer: “which side of the Mississippi is that on?” Priceless.

I’d be down for some gamin’ on Saturday or Sunday as the schedule allows. Where do you kids (what city) all live?
