I’m off work at 5, would that be too late?
If we left from Milwaukee at 5 we’d be able to get there at like 630 or 7 which is about when people start showing up.
GGA is going to be run a bit later (around 10 PM) since the party room was previously booked. But if you guys want to go for the arcade and check everything out that’s fine. If you stay for the console games that start around 10, then you’ll be in for about 4 hours of games and drive back around 2:30ish.
The arcade itself is quite nice and a large variety of games. If you aren’t in it for straight casuals and grinding and just want to head out for a good time, then by all means come Thursday around 7ish, enjoy the arcade for a few hours and eat some food (Chinese restaurant next door is decent quality) and then we’ll show up by 10.
makes me sad that the one week i’m free before 730 is the week that the room is booked by someone :c
It’s a conspiracy I tell you!
Yo Devin. You getting those EX Tiger Knee cross ups down? Shit looks nasty!
Hey, it’s devin’s favorite game, at a low low price!

Street fighter reminds me of old, great, harmonious sonny and Cher melodies.
anyone interested in playing some marvel tonight?
also i’m wondering what would be a good team to pick up to learn the basics of kof13
If you want a team covering the different types of characters you could do - Kyo/Kim/Clark, K’/Shen/Daimon, Robert/Elisabeth/Raiden
Just some suggestions, you should play around with the order too. Team order isn’t as important as Marvel but you want to consider meter use. Don’t start with a character that you are going to need meter to do good damage with.
Alright, I’ll give those teams a try. I haven’t ever actually played a KoF game for more than a few days before so I’m not sure which characters benefit from meter. I guess I’ll just have to mess around with it a bit and see what works.
every character in kof can 100% someone with meter, for the most part. i think i’m going to put shen first in my team because he has fat damage without much meter use and terry last, because he is the easiest character to combo HD mode with and if i have meter left for him, i may have neo max opportunities.
so my anchor doesn’t matter all that much as long as i 1) know how to play him and 2) don’t waste meter during the match?
it all depends on your team for sure, but as for the idea of wasting meter, KOing a member of your opponent’s team is invaluable so if i see the opportunity to blow meter to do it i will always go for it, but the chances of sitting on 3 meters with full drive bar are much better later in the match so thinking about your 3rd character is super important.
I tend to just put the character I’m most confident with last. So I guess in that way they are an anchor.
I put my characters order in rank of Chineseness. With Leona being least Chinese and Kensou being much more Chinese than Benimaru
kensou should be last so that by the end of the match he is most hungry for the bun they for some reason didn’t let him eat in this game.
I now have a goal for 2012. Thank you.
