Placed 3rd in a Underdog tourney. Was my first tourney for UMVC3, usually only play online. Was pretty nervous and dropped a bunch of stuff, was super jumping way too much for some reason.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed after watching the stream archive, probably could of taken those whole thing if my execution was up to par. failed to capitalize on numerous occasions and even let people live with slivers of life…

First time the prone auto correct on cross ups worked for me though @3:54:48 again failed to capitalize on it though lol.

I got a Chris XBL match video for you guys. It’s me against another Chris player. Please lemme know your thoughts. Trying to level up here.

  1. Slowdown your air combo strings. You seem to be doing things really quickly. For your first launch, you have a lot of time to do the M, M, H, S. If you take your time, you will have more time to do the jumping OTG Magnum for the relaunch.

  2. Your basic ground string can be expanded. Try c.M, s.H, f.H as your main hit confirm string. If you see any part of the string to hit, go to launcher for the BnB. If not, cancel f.H into an explosive of your choice (I like landmine the most).

  3. Nice confirms off the landmines. That’s the first thing I learned as a Chris player and you got it down consistently. While stray launcher is very effective, I found c.M, s.H, f.H to work as well. It’s a matter of preference here I suppose.

  4. Utilize the gun cancel -> special gun. In other words, if you super jump with the intention of firing guns, do a down H gunshot then cancel into a gun of your choice.

  5. Less magnums, more machine gun. Magnums cover a very narrow area, and unless you can snipe your opponents consistently, machine gun is better for area coverage. If you super jump and is already descending downwards, machine gun is far more favorable as it will cover more area. Furthermore, if you hit with the machine gun on the way down, you can go for a c.M into a combo if you land near your opponent.

  6. Too many empty stray jumps. While stray jumps are safe, many times you were hopping where it’s already clear your opponent might not doing anything. If you’re jumping backwards against Iron Fist, the shotgun would’ve shut him down. While jumping forward on the opposing Chris, shotgun would’ve been good as you were nearing him, or pistol would’ve been good at mid distance.

Thanks GC. I’ll keep on practicing. I can always use more help especially from a great Chris player. I have been watching a lot of your videos and STA WindZero as well. I’ve been off my game lately so I’m trying to get back on track. Don’t get me wrong, I do know how to use Chris; I just need to keep improving. I’m using more jumping machine gun now and it makes sense to use it more.

Oh yeah, and the Pistolero video has a 1mil combo with no assists from the genade loop. Perhaps there is a practical way to combo into that with an assist?

I love that grenade after the Iron Fist assist, that is sexy. That’s also quite an interesting team. I also want to mention that I don’t use that team. (Chris, Spencer, Sentinel)

It is nice, huh? I wish I could take credit for it, but I saw it on a stream somewhere. And yeah, the team is… eccentric.
