Okay, now that guy’s bitching is just sad. That chick linking to her tumblr where you can keep clicking links and find some artwork with titties on it is different than linking directly to your pornographic drawing.
But why is no one sticking up for design B? The one that looked like Arale. That was the only one I liked. Had character, wasn’t a Roll clone, I knew it wouldn’t have been popular but that seemed like the most versatile design.
Yes of course, the guys at Comcept made several sketches and updates to get backers hype about Call, even livestreaming the voting results for the final designs, but it was just a ruse so they can pull the rug out from under us and submit Dina’s art as the winner.

How dumb do you have to be? In American society (hell, the world) images are judged on whether they hold artistic, scientific, or intellectual value. Hence many schools have no problem showing nude artwork in class, because it shows Artistic value.
pornography does not hold artistic, scientific or intellect value. The purpose of porn is only for sexual stimulation.
The picture posted for Call was blantantly erotic and obscene in nature, while her art is “expressive” pieces of work.

While I was watching an episode of Globe Trekker on PBS they(powers that be) pixelated the buttocks of a male marble statue during a visiting a museum scene.

while I was watching the film The Agony and the Ecstacy on channel ThisTV which isn’t cable they pixelated the paintings drawings of Michelangelo’s nude figures that were shown briefly in the film.
When I saw that a bad taste came to my mouth, probably the little bit of vomit that came up from the sheer disgust of seeing that Americans were being crazy enough to pixelate the reproductions of Michelangelo’s drawing in a film where Charleston Heston depicts him fighting Roman Catholic Church censorship in that biographical film.

I am a regular visitor of Manhattan’s exquisite museums and works of art are not censored. If you see something censored on television, it’s either FCC rules or avoiding pressure from sponsors. It has nothing to do with the majority of Americans. It is the one or two letters FCC gets a year and they feel compelled to do something about it.

There’s a really clear difference between her art and the one of Call… The damn Call one even had the word “ecchi” on it. The intent is completely different. While one is intended to be expressive, the other is intended to be pornographic. Call is bustin’ it wide open, let’s be realistic here. Not to mention she didn’t link directly to the images, she linked to her Tumblr which happened to contain images like that. I don’t see why this is even a discussion. If you understood artistic value at all, we wouldn’t be having it. Granted they both could be considered NSFW but, to my knowledge, no one complained until the image of Call was taken down. It’s just people being spiteful and immature.
The thing is you are talking about whether something is art or not, something which is highly subjective, whether something contains nudity or not is not subjective and that is what the posting of an image should be moderated on.
