Windjammers is not a side tournament, its a main one! If you can suply a setup for Jackie Chan, we can run it. Let me know.

Should I be trying to reserve a room somewhere specific, or do we care where we’re rooming?

Finally a major Local Tournament in Illinois. Took awhile for me to find this info. I’ll be there.

I’m assuming you mean within the hotel on the first page, if you find out that we need to be close let me know.

Happens every year

Are you serious? Its pretty specific in the first post of the thread. Remind me to slap you!

I meant which part of the hotel, silly geese. Hmm, what would Geese be like if he were silly?

If you simply reserve through the website linked in the OP, or call and ask for the Midwest Championships block, you will be good to go!

Is there anybody in there area who can help me dual mod one of my TEs with a ChImp board?

I hear that Phreakazoid187 from Chicago will be there doing some stick work.

Keits, I tried to reserve right now. You said that if i reserve online via your reserve list we would all be in the same block. Thats fine just one thing though. Whats up with smokers? Do they have smoking rooms? Just asking cause a few of the guys im rooming with smoke.

I also saw that if you needed to cancel your room, that you will still get charged for one day? What would happen if I reserve for 2 nights but later on I decided to just go ahead and try to edit of one night instead. Will I be get charged of the other night? I wouldn’t think so but I figure I’d ask you.

LAST THING: How many room are available? i don’t think i will be able to reserve till friday. I just want to make sure I have a room for MWC.

Hey Arturo. Unfortunately, I believe all the hotel rooms are non-smoking. I could be wrong on this though, and if you dont see any options n the website when reserving, please call the hotel and ask. I believe you will only be charged for one day if you cancel your reservation too late. I think you have a couple days or a week before the event to make changes. Again, if this isnt clear on the site, please call them to get specifics.

Lastly; The number of rooms available is getting small now, but if we run out, I can secure us another block of rooms.

Virtua Fighter 5 for 360 has been added as a 5 dollar game.

Puzzle Fighter will run on 360 as well.

Question(s): I read through the first two posts and, unless I missed it several times, I didn’t see anything about -where- the games are being held. Is there some sort of conference room in the hotel we’ll be using? Or will we be running out of the hotel rooms? Having once worked as a 3rd shift hotel clerk once I know “parties” (or tourneys in this case) can get rambunctious in the wee hours. Sort of in conjunction with this last question, will we be encountering any problems with noise? Tourneys can get exciting and people can get loud… I just wouldn’t want us to get kicked out 'cause we’re making too much noise if the area we’re in isn’t sound-proofed.

You did, indeed, miss it several times.

Hotel rooms, lol. This isnt amateur hour, its MWC! Come party!

Wowsa. Yeah, apparently I’m blind. Alright, well since you’ve formally berated me on the forums I guess I have no choice but to attend now.

I’m down for SSFIV, HDR and mystery game.

Also if necessary I can provide a 360 with Puzzle Fighter HD. Only have one wired pad (MadCatz Fight Pad) but I’m planning on getting a second soon as well as a PS3 FightPad (so I can participate in all your PS3 game shenanigans…). As for a TV, I’ve only got an SD 27" which I might be able to bring transportation willing. My 360 would also be fine for casuals as I’ve got pretty close to every fighter available for it.

A WORD OF CAUTION: I’m not sure if PS3’s are the same way but with 360’s they’re very finicky when it comes to DRM, or Digital Rights Media. That is, if your 360 has red-ringed, you sent it in and got a new one but kept your old hard drive, unless you update the DRM for your arcade games you’ll be unable to play them without an internet connection. And, as I doubt we’ll have ready access to broadband at this tournament, it would be a shame to see a console get shelved because we can’t access more than the Trial versions 'cause of stupid DRM. Like I said, I’m not sure if this is the same case for PS3, but if it is we’d better make sure those copies of HDR and MvC2 are up to date. Sorry if this is common sense, but I still figured a reminder wouldn’t hurt.

So, Keits, take pleasure in knowing you verbally (textually?) harassed someone into attendance. Go for broke!

The hotel has free Wifi, and PS3s have built in Wifi. Dont worry too much about that stuff.

Any equipment you can bring always helps, and if we dont end up using it, thats okay too. The TV would be very helpful. We cant have too many setups.

Another question: I have a friend who will be accompanying me to the event. However, he will most likely not be entering any tournaments. If anything, and even this is a very small chance, he -might- play in a few casuals. He’s not really a big fighting game fan and he’ll most likely be there to enjoy the sights and root for me in the tourneys I’ll be entering. So, the actual question: will he be expected to pay the $20 venue fee? I highly doubt it would be a problem if he does have to pay, but I’m just curious if this would be required of him.

Oh, and we’ll most likely both be buying T-shirts. =)

If he wishes to play casuals he will need to pay the venue fee. If he just wants to spectate, thats free. Edit: I’ve decided to offer a casuals-only venue fee. If you are there to play casuals but do not wish to enter any tournaments, you will be paying a 10 dollar venue fee. The equipment discount will not apply to people who payed the casuals only venue fee. Hope this helps!

Along with this, if anyone is interested in getting mods BEFORE MWC so that they’re locked and loaded for anything, I would actually prefer to do mods pre-emtively since I may not be able to sit down and hammer out mods on sunday and cramming them in between events on saturday. I actually prefer to take my time so that I’m focused and it also allows me time to think things through and wire neatly…I tend to take pride in how clean I can make a lot of wires look .

Anywho, hit me up if you’re interested in having something done!

P.S. I’m fucking stoked about MWC, can’t wait.
