Not really. Pretty simple, there will not be a tournament as no one from outside our area will be attending. All the yes/no/yes/no crap is all adrians fault lol so blame him.
We can still have some kind of small tourney at my place if you guys wanted. It’s w/e
Ahh that sucks, was looking forward to it. So I’ve been practicing profusely on my stick the past couple of days and it’s kicking my ass. I’m just barely able to do a simple DP FADC Ultra combo lol and even then I drop it half of the time… I think I should be pretty stable on stick within a month, if not longer.
Also, I came to understand PLinking now and I think it’s the worst thing ever next to OSs.
I just hate how you’re manipulating the games inputs instead of actually timing the input yourself. Sure, you have every right to use any shortcut at your disposal, we play to win… but shit, timing the damn thing yourself feels so much more satisfying. To me, I see it in the same perspective I see Turbo.
Plinks don’t manipulate the game. You still have to time your link, with just an extra frame (1/60th of a second) of error. It’s just making use of the tools that the game’s engine was built around. It’s not a glitch, an unfair advantage, a tool not built into the game or a game changing mechanic.
Turbo Is a game changing mechanic, a tool not built into the game and an unfair advantage. It inputs codes that you didn’t have to work for urself.
So how is plinking like turbo?
Reminds me of back in the day when ppl complained about bxr being an unfair advantage in halo2. Superjumping was an unfair advantage lol.
I just don’t like how you can basically make a 1 frame link to a 2 framer. Fuck it, I just have a vendetta against shortcuts in general lol. I even get peeved at crouch teching. It’s not the best example/comparison, I just see both Plinking/Turbo as some form of shortcut, whether one is legal in competetive play or not. This just probably comes from my pad play since Plinking (especially with the trigger buttons) was much more complex to pull off than a stick or fightpad.
Yeah I feel ya. But people would still hit their one framers if plinking wasn’t in the game. (if ppl red parry on reaction they can manually time one framers lol) It is a shortcut that just eases the barrier of entry a little. And not even that really as plinks aren’t exactly easy to do. Although I go threw the motions of a plink, when in training I look and the inputs and I am usually hitting the buttons at the same time instead. I still hit my combos though.
I think of plinking as an advanced skill thats pretty hard to develop more than a scrubby shortcut.
What’s your view on dhc glitching?
How about option-selects? Isn’t that “manipulating the game” too?
I think I mentioned OSs too, or at least how I felt about them: bleh. I’m guilty of crouch teching, but hate it at the same time. I see your point though; I’m more at ease about the topic looking at it that way.
As for DHC glitch; the team I constructed and stuck to day 1 (x23, Deadpool, Dante) actually has (or had, rather) amazing DHC glitch synergy with all three characters before I even knew about it. However, it was an option I’d use, like, every now and then for shits and chuckles. Personally, as much as I frown upon it, I kinda liked the hitstun-deterioration reset aspect of it (love me some combos), but the damage reset is just too overpowering. I’m more than happy it’s being removed.
Dhc glitch was broke as hell, trust me I constructed a team just for that purpose more or less. Os’s are smart I like the concept of covering two or more options at one time. Plinking is cool IMO, feels good to do. Ok so no tourney. Well I’m down for casuals I guess I kinda was looking forward to some matches, I haven’t really played sf4 lately. Mostly mvc3.
I have no idea what I just saw in that clip?!?
I’m kinda excites to play kof13 I’m thinking Terry, maxima, and idk. I just like how maxima just keeps on truckin in his combos.
I work tomorrow in the evening to midnight I haven’t played any of you in Marvel now that I think about it. I preordered mine from the Mall, don’t think they have midnight releases. SO HYPED!
Speaking of, I’ve been really thinking about my UMVC3 team lately. I definately want Vergil as Anchor and Ironfist as Battery, but I’m having trouble picking a point char. I thought I’d let X23 take point like I did in Vanilla but meh, I’ve grown tired
I wanted Ryu as Point but that’d be a waste since I think he’s better off as an Anchor, plus I want a wimmen in my team. Morrigan looks awesome, especially with dat alt, but her lack of ground dash is THE worst. I might have to make an alternative team…
anyway, what do you guys think would be a great point character for my team?
probably, it’ll hugely depend if I can make use of his assists with the point character and whether he even builds a decent amount of meter on his own, I guess. If not, I’ll need someone with a reliable OTG/lockdown assist at battery or something. Ammy comes first to mind but I’m so tired of seeing her lol.
