Mid-Air 2-in-1 Hurricane Kick For All Shotos?

I’m assuming the reason for that is because Ken’s version of the Hurricane Kick probably hits at an earlier frame than Ryu and Akuma’s right?

Bless you all for this thread.

Ken is my primary and some of this stuff is blowing my mind.

Ok, I just tested canceling a jumping jab into a tetsu, works like a charm and I don’t have to buffer the jab (just be real quick with the stick). Only problem is its only a two hit combo…am I doing it right?

Better yet, I took a cue from one of those videos and discovered that you can cancel out of a fierce uppercut into a strong tetsu for a whopper 4 hit combo. Charges the heck out of the super meter too.

Freaking sweet.

You’re doing it right. On most characters it’ll be a two hit combo. After that you can go for the walk up shoryu/knee bash/whatever mixups.

If you don’t mind, how is the knee bash mixup done?

That’ll give you the info you need since I don’t feel like typing a lot. Check out the rest of the SRK wiki, lots of good stuff there.

Don’t forget that since jumping attacks all stun for the same amount of frames when they hit, jumping fierce will add more damage to that combo.

My personal fav would be j.:hp: XX :hk: Aerial Hurricane Kick, cr.:mk: XX :hp: Hadouken. (Definitely works best in the corner. There are better things to do mid-screen.)

And let’s not talk about all of the things you can do to a cornered Sagat.

Will try it out, thanks.

I recently discovered the c.FP XX RH tetsu = 4hit combo. Its my new “this is what you get for letting me dizzy you” tactic.

Nah…man…that should be a “you left yourself open now let me get you close to dizzy” combo. Ken has much better combo options on dizzy opponent than just that…though that’s still an awfully good one. Do a search in the Ken forum and you’ll see.

Yeah, but right now (scrub alert) its the best one I can consistently pull off in the heat of battle.

Every time I play, I get a tiny bit better…I just gotta keep working harder and smarter at it.

When I first got into HDR I was losing EVERY match online…now I commonly win 1/4 to 1/2 of the matches I play. I’m still a novice player, but thanks to a lot of the great info here, I’m advancing at a pace that makes me smile.
