Its not a monopoly, if you dont like it get DSL. And you can even get satellite TV.
Also you can get cable internet from companies that are not located in mi, some do offer service plans in specific parts of mi… Possibly youre area.
DSL is not readily available in many areas and has riders that further prevent many people from being able to use it. Satellite TV might be comparable to cable TV, but satellite internet is not comparable to cable internet, and is prohibitively expensive.
You cannot get cable internet from companies that do not own d-point line rights in your region. Cable is a “managed monopoly.”
Comcast is gay ass fuck. Just get cable internet and get a Descrambler. All you need is the cable internet signal because it also sends the scrambled signal for cable TV. A descrambler is like 40 or 50 bucks and gets the job done. It is much cheaper and if comcast ever fucks you, you have the personal joy of knowing you are fucking them back.

Cable is also a monitored channel; unlike satellite, where if you lack the phone cable to dial back you’re safe, cable can be monitored.
Might as well just find what shows are worth watching and download them episode-at-a-time; better than going to jail for some dumb shit.

I was paying $49.99 for comcast internet, I ditched it for DSL and I pay $26.99. I recently bumped speed up x3 and pay $29.99.
…Comcast came out once to fix my line once and saw that I had Direct TV also. So the bastard cut my Direct TV line without any reason. When I called and asked him about it he denied cutting it. That was direct company foul play. He figured since Comcast wasn’t working correctly, nothing is going to work. That way I had to wait on him to fix it. What kinda shit is that???

Not only does DSL not match cable’s speed capabilities, but you also need to be on a clean digital line and within 3 miles as-the-crow-drives of a switching station. You also end up sharing your landline with your internet. You can’t tell me that doesn’t effect speed.
Doesn’t matter anyway, within 5 years they won’t be able to support DSL’s current infrastructure.
I have to agree, DSL in michigan is garbage. When I lived in Mass, it was the fucking shit because there are switch stations EVERYWHERE and it owned cable in every aspect. However, since you have to live so very close to a station and there are so very few here, Robo can have DSL but someone a block away from him might not be able to.
Comcast also blows because they often force you to go with their service in apartment buildings and such if the building has an agreement with Comcast. Now that is a gay monopoly. Any time anyone builds a new building or a building comes under new management, Comcast is right the fuck there ready to make a contract with the owners.

Oh god, have I had my fun with comcast in the past…more to do with Comcast Cable TV than internet. Their internet stil sucks though.
3 WWF pay per views in a row I tried to order (back with the analog box), they were having some “problems” within our area. Couldn’t even get the re-airing. Pissed me off because one of them was when Angle won the title from Austin.
Second time, tried to order an NWA ppv on the analog box, and just 2 hours before it airs, I go to order it, and there isn’t even a fucking PPV channel anymore. Called them up and told us “Oh, the old box doesn’t support PPV anymore. If you want it, you have to switch over to our new Digital Cable.” I remember them trying to tell my dad “We’re not forcing anyone to switch over to Digital.” My dad replied “Like hell you’re not! You just take away all the shit we were paying you for!” It was a very funny and angry phone conversation.
Digital cable sucks ass!
