I go by the 30+ episode judgement for this reason.
For everyone that watched DBZ here and actually liked it (and I know a LOT of you guys watched it) there was reason for wanting to watch it. Everyone just wanted to see what was going to happen. It kept everyones interest at least to that point. DBZ was watchable, some of the fights were really cool, but overall, DBZ had a storyline that wasn’t exactly that great to begin with. It was the fighting that kept everyone watching.
That’s how the first 30 of One Piece are. I’d say the storyline to that point is still above DBZ in terms of creativity, but not so much. Then all of a sudden, they’re throwing in storyline that’s just great. At this point, I stopped judging One Piece as being just another action series to watch.
The storyline to me after this point was comparable to a really good series, almost as good as Cowboy Bebop, and Naruto in terms of how much you actually care about the characters. So to put it in really simple terms
One Piece (first 30 episodes) == DBZ
One Piece (past 30 episodes) == Naruto (in terms of quality of where the story is going.)
Hopefully this statement makes me look more ridiculous, but hey, I’m trying to build a One Piece fanbase here, do you blame me? I did afterall suggest Naruto to everyone
An Aside: about anime
My personal top 3 animes are, Trigun, Scryed, and oni gui teacher. After that its kimaga(sp) something-something I cant rember, chobits, onigui twins.
Other watchable anime’s include grappler baki 1 and 2, kenshin (up till he defeats shio), naruto, ebechu, nadesco
Horrible anime’s include samurai deeper kyo (kenshin rip)
Anything gumdam
as for anything dragon ball, it was all good back when i was a kid, and it was probally my first anime… but now that I have experienced other things dragon ball-ish stuff doesnt measure up.
It’s become clear to me that you are not familiar with comprehension; with regard to character balance and the elimination of the 2 styles, I meant that certain characters, in being smashed together had lost out, while others did not, such as Hanzo as opposed to Genjuro. Couple that with how certain characters still have the option of having all their old shit, like Kazuki and Sogetsu, and to a lesser extent Haohmaru, and it’s just not that well done.
If the game was fine, why are they so quick to release a new version, let alone one with the same iteration number.
When hit with 1 super in 4, I don’t lose my weapon unless I’m weighted red or dead; so this “while” you speak of must be from when 5 was released til now.
It appears to be working fine , but I a bit concerned that all of the sudden, my Internet Exporer has gone crazy immediately after you left, even today…I hope there was no worm/virus in any of that stuff you downloaded into my PC yesterday. Back on the anime thing, I’ve been enjoying “Get Backers” quite a bit lately…but I must warn you, its an aquired taste.
Naruto was the satndard anime, Carefree kid who wants to be someone and no one believes he can do it. But he always reaches deep down and proves them wrong. It didn’t cathc my attaention until about episode 10(whichever episodes it was when they ran into the Ice Mirror Kid and the Guy witht he patch). after then I was hooked. Now if I can only get my hands on episodes 75-whenever it is now:lol:
A lot of animes start off slow. some if you miss one you’re lost. I love Trigun, but I missed like 5 episodes and I was like…ummm what did I miss. But it was still good as hell. i mean one day Vash is goofing off and saves the day. I come back a few days later and he blew up the moon and he has a mechanical arm:lol: But again it’s up there as one of my best.

As far as losing weapons, in sam sho 2, and I assume 1 as well, your weapon got busted if you got hit with a super. I don’t remember if its like that in 3 or not, but nevertheless it’s an old feature in the series.
As to why they were so quick to release a new iteration, Yuki Enterprises felt that there was a few things that they wanted to change up, and since the neo geo was getting dropped in a few months, obviously they’d have to do it quickly. It doesn’t make Sam Sho 5 bad…it just means Special is a superior game.
Maybe they coulda done the smashing together better, I don’t know. My 3 characters, Rimiruru, Charlotte, and Shizumaru all came out of it well enough, and that’s all I really cared about.

The trip was a blast, I myself had plenty of fun, and if you ever go to Deerfield, Chicago please stop by and pick up a slice of their cheesecake, it really is to die for. The tournament was a drag, nothing but role cancellers, I will swear that on my last fight I proved that most of them hold no skill with their characters and 90% skill with the role canceling. Other wise I did have fun, and I think the others who I went with had fun too.

Get Backers is definitely an aquired taste, as is One Piece, I suppose. I really liked it. Try out GantZ and Tenjou Tenge as well. Gantz is really short, and I can’t really see how far Tenjou Tenge will be going.
As for the IE problem, try either the browser that Kevin had mentioned, or try Avant browser.
