I told myself that I wasn’t going to post – yet, here I am.
I challenge you to read all of this.
The next person who decides to make a new thread should name it: “Michigan’s Mindless Bickering - The Fall Sessions”
There seems to be a disconnect in the “arguements” here.
People seem to be more concerned with the personal well-being of others than is really neccessary.
I think we should re-cap for a bit.
The guy from Kentucky hops on our forum to issuse a challenge. He then goes on to say that there is a good chance that he is the only cvs2 player in his entire state and that he’d be willing to challenge the top 5 in Michigan – for money even. By definition this would be a handicap match: 1:5 ratio.
Immediately, someone reached the conclusion that he was being “arrogant”, and that he “might not want to loose his money like that”.
A) Why would anyone care about him losing any money? Is he a family member of yours? and…
B) Did anyone ever stop to think that the guy simply wants to play the damn game with someone other than himself?
Did anyone actually read his post before replying?
This is not the definition of arrogance. People are too quick to throw out terms which have no meaning.
The guy issued a simple challenge: The top 5 in cvs2 versus him – then you guys called him arrogant.
Now, if he turned around and said: "Oh, nevermind. I changed my mind about challenging the top 5 in Michigan, you guys suck anyway. Why would I want to bother with a bunch of scrubs anyhow?"
What would he be then? I’m sure you guys would invent all sorts of new words and phrases but above all he’d be arrogant in the true sense.
What “comes off” as arrogant, may not actually be arrogant.
You telling him that he is “arrogant” and that he’ll “loose his money”, is being more concerned for another man than is really neccessary. If you were that confident that he’d loose, you’d simply say, “Huh, foolish,” and then reply with, “I accept.”
Michigan top 5 won’t even BE THERE!
Not only are people overly concerned with this man from Kentucky, they are overly concerned with the people in our own backyard.
Some people are concerned with what people are doing with their personal lives outside of this “internet forum”. There seems to be a needless concern with the amount of time and energy that people are putting into their hobbies and that the excess time and energy which is devoted to them results in a lower quality of life.
This is shown clearly in the “Get Money” mottos and statements.
In the first place, everyone here posts from a computer with an internet connection: no one here is that bad off economically.
You can’t post on SRK from a cardboard box on the street. And I’m sure no one goes to Kinko’s and pays to post on the internet about their new game when they could use the same money to feed their starving stomach.
On the one hand, we have the people who come to this site to discuss a singular aspect of their lives: games. Nothing more.
On the other hand, we have the people who say that games aren’t everything and that devoting an excess amount of time to them, results in being a bum.
Their arguement can be stated roughly as follows: “I don’t care about these games. How can you people like these games so much when you don’t have any money? You should spend less time playing games, and more time getting money.”
Here is the million dollar question: Why do you care? Why do you care about what other people are doing? People should learn to “not care” about the personal lives of people, in the same way they that do “not care” about the games. If you don’t give a fuck about the games, why would you give a fuck about the people that play them???
You ask: "How can you people like these games so much when you don’t have any money?"
I could use the same logic and say, “How can you people post on SRK without 21 inch monitors?! Y’all can’t even see the screen with them weak ass 17 inchers!!! GET MONITORS!!!”
I realize that “getting money” or “getting pussy” are good things. But I don’t need to be constantly reminded of it from my internet forum grandfathers. If there are people who are so stupid so as to loose sight of the most essential requirements of life in the city becase they are too busy playing games: LET THEM FUCKIN ROT!!
If someone is stankin with two cents in their pocket because they’ve been playing cvs2 for 3 straight months: There is nothing you can say to them to help them get their shit straight. They need PROFESSIONAL help at that point!
And they sure as hell aren’t gonna listen to your opinion on the matter because you’re posting on the same “internet game forum” as they are.
I really don’t think that I could learn anything from the people here that would be useful for my personal life. Oh, let me guess: now I’m being “arrogant”.
This is the equilvalent of me telling Robotron to GET MONEY every single time I post – even though the man has a damn house with tons upon tons of valuables inside of it with bills to boot.
He DOESN’T CARE! No one cares.
I posted this from my Maytag box on Woodward because I stole an internet connection from Comcast!
Everyone post their salary, job position, HMO plan, sexual adventures, and each any every personal possesion you own so we can move past this. Even if we listed off all that shit, no one would give a damn. And the people that are “bums” would not get any motivation from it.
GET MONITORS!!!
