Robo, you need to check out this PS2 game called Katamari Damacy…it’s the shit. You roll a ball of stuff to collect more stuff, and animals, people, eventually buildings. Weird as fuck, but it’s fun.
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 looks good…I played it a bit at CGE last August. I hear the MK emulation is a bit off, but it’s otherwise a good package. Does the Xbox one have Live on the MKs? I don’t think so, but Midway didn’t give me a straight answer at the expo.
A lot of shit came up that last Saturday. I told some friends I’d watch the Mayorga/Trinidad encore fight with them.Also I got shit sleep from the previous night, and I just didn’t feel like spending a whole day travelling to and from a tournament.

I don’t know who you’re talking to, but both Mortal Kombats are straight. Whoever you’re asking is likely a fan of the recent ones whose memory is skewed. How it would be a good package with the 2 games worth a shit on the disc fucked up I don’t know. I have heard of people whose discs fucked up the audio though; mine doesn’t do that however. The game is “live aware” meaning you can be online while playing it, but not play it against people online. You can receive invitiations to other games and see what your friends are doing. It does not save NVRAM, so every time you play MK3 you have to unlock Smoke. (1090222234)

I played 2004 for about an hour the day it came out, and maybe a half an hour a week later showing people what had changed. I haven’t touched it since. I may have played 2003 for 16 hours a day every day at one time, but that was max a year, and the time between when that ended and 2004 came out was fairly large in comparison.

Apparently it’s the PAL, french release of Halo 2. I don’t know how the Xbox deals with PAL, but I could see that being a pain in the ass to play on NTSC boxes.

Since you are apparently unaware, the european version of Halo 2 got leaked, specifically, the french one. Europe uses the PAL tv format. The US uses the NTSC format. These both have different scanlines and colors, and each system handles this problem differently. Neo Geos, for example, have the television data programmed into them by region, with all 3 versions inside each cartridge. The Atari 2600 is essentially the same in all regions, with the tv data programmed into the carts, so that a PAL game would not work on an american tv. I don’t know how the Xbox handles the NTSC/PAL issue, so I don’t know if the euro Halo 2 leak will work on an american box, without some sort of region mod.
Oh yeah, Midway Arcade Treasures 2 has Wizard of Wor, Total Carnage, Spy Hunter 2, and Xenophobe. All of which are sweet as hell games worth looking into the pack for.

I don’t doubt Bill Gates himself is planning on assraping the guy who leaked the game in the first place. Since I don’t have a modded xbox, or a euro xbox, or a PAL tv for that matter, this doesn’t affect my plans to go ahead and get my copy on november 9th. It just means I gotta work to avoid any spoilers on the game, since I want to be surprised.

Televisions have never had region coding; they have refresh rates. Any TV made in the last 10 years, perhaps even 15-20 switches between 50 and 60hz, and many even run at a denom. value to meet futureproof standards. Regioning is built into consoles, discs, and cartridges to keep markets separated. Any of you who’ve played Juiced with Diarra, Burnout 3 with me, Obscure, THUG2, and various other games have been playing PAL releases. The XBOX switches at the chip, much like the dreamcast used to do after it had been explicitly told to via startup menus. This is MS’ bullshit way of being able to sell the same hardware to 5 different standards (NTSC-U/NTSC-J/PAL/SECAM/HIGHSTAT, as if they’d ever bother with that)
NTSC/PAL used to be a big deal. It still is if you’re watching something on PAL that was made for NTSC and converted and vice versa. People who are all “I DON’T BUY PAL DVDS!” for movies are yutzes though, as the increased resolution on the disc as well as the fact that it comes from a source that completely outclasses all end user mediums anyway is preferrable for movies. But just for anal retentivity, I’d rather have a NuTSaC than a PAL.
This release also is a typical Euro9 multi-language, like Burnout was for those who got that recently from me (now I have both though; so you might just have the US one.) So English is a choosable language for movie subtitles and shit. It’s not like you’re all not going to buy it; you might as well play it early for multiplayer.

Contrary to popular belief, those with modded Xboxes do buy games. Just the one they feel are worth supporting. Knowing what I know now, I would have never bought Fable. Rent, yes. Buy, no. Nowadays, very few companies make games worth $50. Sad, but true.
