Asura Blade was really really fun. Thanks Mike for putting this together, it was a lot of fun.
Thanks Mike, this was a lot more fun than I originally thought after playing the first game which was the rainbow edition of SF2. shudder. Thanks for running around that entire day at the dojo with the bracket even though there were hype matches going on left and right.
AND GODDAMN, BUT THAT SUPER MARIO BROS 3 BATTLE MODE BETWEEN TANAKA AND DUNCAN WAS THE HYPEST MATCH IVE EVER SEEN!
Good shit, Mike, overall it was hella fun and I’m glad I ended up entering.
HEY FUCKER ive been talkin about this for a long ass time! lol i just never got around to destroying all of the old team jurassic, but good shit on stealing my idea. you good peoples mhc hahahaha
Asura blade.
Hey Mike, how about we tag team the mystery tourney. You can do the single game mystery tourney and i can do the multiple games mystery tourney.
I like that you brought back this old skool element, but you definitely failed when selecting SSF4 with 3 buttons, out of all the countless games we could of played hehe. Its all good though, i still think the tourney was tight. We need this type of element in the NW.
We can make them bi-weekly on sundays or during Grill Fights. Bi-weekly meaning, one week “single Game mystery tourney” 2nd week “multi game mystery tourney”
What do people think about this?
J-Cole
This. I’d prefer to have tournaments that have games like this… and this game. This, Tobal, Bushido Blade, Kof 2000, points based gradius 3, marvel vs capcom, etc
naruto clash of ninja revolution 3?! (it’s like ngnt4 but a little better IMO)
I think I just had a minor stroke…
but despite this inacuracy id take either. I’ve been lying I havent played them i swear.:china:
but since mike doesnt take direct suggestions Ill be vauge…look into anime snes fighters ^^
I’M JUST TRYING TO CONVINCE PEOPLE TO PLAY lol
tony i wanna punch you in the face so hard! thank you for explaining to me what a wombo combo was though hahahhaha
But you didn’t even get to play 3 button SSF4 Cole :bgrin:
I’m fine with the idea. I’ve got a game I think will be really fun that I’m pretty sure no one has played, and I want to run a tournament for it tomorrow if that’s cool. If you wanna run the multi-game tournament, go for it.
Dragon Ball Z Legends 3v3 battles on the PS1 Who CAN BEAT THAT
Eternal Champions !!! LET’s GOOO
In the SSF4 with only 3 buttons game, did the player get to choose his 3 buttons? That would have been very interesting IMO
moar non fighting games next time around. There’s a ton that we could do.
Shumps like Gradius or Beat Hazard (hehehe)
platformers like MM9 or MM10 speed runs through a stage, or even endless mode to see who can get the most screens or even Contra whoever Game Over’s first/most points after stage 2 or 3 or something like that.
Racing Games like Burnout Paradise, or a Mario Kart game.
The possibilities are endless…
maybe try to score that Nintendo powerfest cartridge or ROM so Cole and I can relieve that competition LMAO.
I think most non vs games are too much of a hassle for the amount of people projected to take part. when you have even a 16 man double elim bracket, bringing in platformer speed runs are logistically difficult and probably create a lot of down time. I think tetris attack or dr mario are good additions though :D(even tho im awful at them D: ) Super Mario Kart is also tight.
Shoulda played this instead of SMB3 battle

Also, I kinda let the mystery game slip yesterday. Since I want this to be fair (and I was pretty commited to running this game), I’m letting everyone know that the game will be Power Instinct 4 Matrimelee. This actually gives you all time to look up videos and strats before hand, so it’ll be interesting to see how things go.
Matrimelee’s awesome. Now I’m pissed I didn’t get to Cole’s last night. Only having played that on 2df with a handful of people, I’m curious to see how the game breaks down when the dojo crowd gets their hands on it. What characters were people using? And did that taunt-showdown mecahnic thing ever actually come into play during a match?
