Yeah I been here for years too, but my experience seems quite different to yours. I mean, most of GD probably doesnāt even play FGs that much anymore or only casually but to be into FGs at all is already a niche of a niche, and the personalities match that. Like, when I think of ācliche gamer communityā I think of twitch streamers, CS:GO, gamefaqs, and twitter, and the community representation from places and games like that is on the smaller side here. Theyāre certainly not a majority, and thereās almost no thread cancer like you see EVERYWHERE on gamefaqs and other similar boards. Hell most gamer circles wouldnāt even have politics related threads AT ALL from my experience.
MGTOW is actually generally about NOT being involved with women at all. Not just only sex, but literally not even being around them any more than would be necessary in say a work place setting. As you say sex isnāt a super hard thing to get, and I donāt think that really has much to do with mgtow, I think thatās more of a PUA concern, since, you know, thatās literally what they are concerned about.

Buying a drink isnāt getting played unless you think buying a woman a drink guarantees sex. I know guys who do think that way, but they are just naive or dumb.
Hereās the scenario. Some chick comes up to you at the bar and starts chatting with you. then she asks you to buy her a drink, which you do. She immediately picks it up and goes over to another table with a guy that you would later realize is the same guy she walked in with. That looks, sounds, and smells like getting played to me. Of course, itās his fault for being naive or dumb.

I e always thought of buying a drink as guaranteeing around 5 minutes of talk time. I think Iāve been āplayedā when the chick accepts the drink, then immediately leaves after a āgee thanksā or if she knows she has a boyfriend and canāt do anything anyways. But that was when I had no game. I obviously donāt buy women drinks anymore, or when I do, itās only when the girls have long been established as just platonic friends. Iāll allow some of my platonic homegirls to scavenge āsomeā drinks off of me if they are hot and cool and I can use them as pivots (it works, so whatever)
But yeah I donāt think any guy really thinks of buying girls drinks as some kind of guaranteed nooki. Itās more used as a nice way by AFC dudes to try and break the ice and get a convo going. When it isnāt followed by at least a semi sincere attempt to have conversation, thatās when guys get pissy.
And girls know this and itās why many of them say no to guys when guys try to buy them drinksā¦ they know the drink, when coming from a stranger has some sort of loaded price on it, usually.
For this same reason I donāt allow dudes to buy ME drinks when Iām out. Thereās a loaded price on the drink which is usually something like (you have to treat me like Iām cool now and let me hang out with your homegirls)
I know, Iāve bought dudes drinks in the past and used the drinks in that way and made out with the dudes homegirl. Itās a smooth thing because when it goes well itās great because everyone wins, but itās also not something that happens all the time nor something that really should be aimed at, just something that like many tricks can increase pull percentage on any given night.
