I’d be happy to play on either cabinet, but I’ve talked to three different people on four separate occasions, and my requests mean shit to them. I’d honestly rather them just get rid of CVS2 if they’re not gonna maintain it. If anyone can ever confirm that they’ve fixed either one of those cabs, I’ll be back down there.
Whaddup.
I finally updated that “Upcoming Tournaments Board” at MGL hahaha. I plan to post names & pictures of the winners on it as well after the event. Also I want to plan a team tournament for AE on the cab there sometime before the next version hits. I’ll keep you guys posted~
Would definitely be into this.
My dear MGL players, please come out and support Streetwise Ranking as it will have a huge effect on Tight or Fight!: Episode 4 at MGL. On top of being ranking tournaments, Streetwise events are also fundraising events to help increase our total equipment count for bigger NorCal events such as NorCal Regionals, NorCal Strong Style, KS2 x SJBG and many more…
Also AE players, look forward to a 3v3 Team Tournament on MGL’s AE cab which I’m planning to hold sometime before the end of the year!
Think I’m going to drop by tonight to see if anyone’s playing AE.
The CVS2 showcase was fixed when we were there last weekend. I’m so used to the bright colors on the Tekken cab that the screen seems too dark for me lol
Eightarc sponsoring Tight or Fight!
Eightarc will be setting up a booth where they will be selling products as well as hosting stations so players can try out their premium fight sticks. They will also be giving a high quality stick to the 1st place winner of the game with the highest turnout! These sticks are honestly the best on the market, so be sure to check out www.eightarc.com when you have a chance.
Tight or Fight! Episode 4 thread info updated!~
Hey Guys, my name is Scott and I’m the GM for Milpitas Golfland. I don’t really check this page out very often, but I did today so I thought I’d say hey.
Sorry about cvs2 being out all summer. It IS working again now. I thought I’d just let you know that we do everything we can to get games working as soon as we possibly can. I mean, why wouldn’t we? We don’t make money from a broken game. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer places to get parts from these days, and that do the more intensive repairs. The monitor went bad on cvs2, and despite them telling us it’d be back soon, they were unable to get the parts in for it, since those are no longer made. They kept stringing us along, but eventually, we switched the monitor over from Tekken 5, and hopefully some day we’ll get the parts to repair the one that went out.
As someone else mentioned, the best way to let us know about a game problem is to tell me or Neil (the game tech) directly. The employees’ primary concern is customer service, so they’ll be happy to get you a refund, but even when they write down the problem for Neil to fix, it often gets lost or thrown away. To make sure that we know about a game problem, no matter how big or small, either talk to Neil or I in person, write it on our facebook page, or send me an email (which you can get from our website or ask an employee for my card).
Once again, we would love to know about problems with our games, and we love to fix them. We are able to fix AE so fast because there is a wider audience playing it and reporting problems, and also because it’s a new game that usually doesn’t have any major problems. I will usually replace any fighting game button that’s even a little spotty the day I hear about it. Joysticks are a little complicated for me, so usually Neil will get those when he comes in, which is on Monday and Friday. Anything else with boards or monitors or something will usually have to be shipped out, and will take a few weeks at best, or at worst a few months, like cvs2.

ToF this weekend!. We will be blow’n it up in the main party room and if need expanding just outside of that room to the patio area. A live stream is planned as well as match recordings of pool play. Eightarc will be present so if you were thinking of purchasing an Eightarc stick this is the perfect time to check them out.
- No outside food allowed into MGL. If your hungry support MGL by purchasing food onsite or eat out and return. If I catch anyone with outside food you will be asked to take it out of the venue.
- No hanging around the employee back parking lot. If you wish to smoke there are designated areas specifically for smokers. If you aren’t sure where they are located, please ask MGL or ToF staff.
See everyone this weekend!
But 2000watts will be holding a side tourney for CVS2 on saturday… around 2 I think
Yes, all sign-ups 12-2PM. 2000watts will be hosting CVS2 on PS2.
In regards to the H2H CVS2 cabs, some hate it, some love it, some don’t care. You can’t please everyone. I personally like H2H setups, I feel it allows for higher level play since the other player can’t physically feel when your potentially going to do something. Stick and button types seems to be the real main issue here other than the brightness of the monitors but that can be adjusted easily.
and come on… my baby hands can’t play cvs2 on american sticks
Top players adapt and excel on any equipment, right? =)
The ways of the old school elite~
I put up a poll on the mgl facebook page about how people prefer to play 3S, mvc2, and cvs2. I’d like to get as much feedback as possible, so I thought I’d make sure you guys knew about it.

Heres the link:
not to be a dick but half of the fighting games were either turned off or joysticks/buttons are crap and are hard to actually enjoy…3rd stick turned off on me while i was playing, cvs2 is barely playable and mvc2 is very bright.
i think you should worry about fixing the games first, i prefer to play side by side american.
That whole section is being looked at and re-imaged. Panel parts, cabs, everything. It just took longer than expected to actually get it all started.
I have to agree with CPS IV. I been there recently and they moved everything around, the sticks for CvS2, upon telling the guys, actually were fixed the next time i went there. I actually prefer the Tekken cab’s stick for CvS2, i can perform the best on them.
Like sure theres still the h2h 3S/MvC2 that needs to be fixed, and the side near the emergency exit could use more lighting, but other than that I do see steady improvement…so hope it stays that way. Hopefully once the games are fixed we can see KoFXIII and BBCSEX too.
Btw is MGL getting 2012 SSFIV upgrade? I think its going to be huge for them if they get that…
