Metal Gear SOLID Thread: Snake? SNAAAAKE!

Only thing I don’t get/like from what I saw is that you can see enemies through objects w/ their outlines. Unless they were playing on easy mode and that’s one of the pluses to easy mode I don’t understand how that fits into the story. I can understand why MGS4 did it due to SOP system but I don’t know what it’s implemented into MGS5.

@Phillpro1 it’s probably some yet to be named new technology that shouldn’t exist even by MGS canon but will exist for the sake of this game.

I didnt care for PW myself. the online is a bit fun

Peace Walker, for all the neat cooperative things it did, was kinda weak. And I love it. But those tiny maps you play on took away the danger of completing your mission. Solve all your problems by running to the next area!

hand’s down, my favorite track to play in MGO:

hope they bring this sHYt back

I think Hayter’s trolling, seems unlike him to whine in a unprofessional manner about not being in the game. Honestly, I think he’s still in the game as Solid Snake, it’s just Sutherland is Big Boss this time around

no…box?

maybe its for online play? thats what makes mgo what it is. not just sprayNpray snoozefest like COD.

Well me an a buddy really tried to sneak through and work cooperatively instead of just dashing through, and we had a lot of fun. Dunno really enjoyed that game.

I hate that it’s hard for me to play MGS games that don’t have a crouch walk now tho.

I think I sort of new ahead of time that Kojima’s statement of ‘open-world’ was an exaggeration. MGSV does have
larger areas, but it ain’t open world. This latest demo and map should show everyone that. It’s not a complaint,
as I’m still loving this game—but I’m not fooled.

peace walker had a great concept just poor execution, leveling up parts and soldiers thing seemed tedious. AI was poor, bosses where boring, controls could have been better but that would be expecting to much out of a handheld game…

this is still my favorite song in the series

^ I agree %100 with everything there…and every single soundtrack in MGS3 is perfection. Ocelot, The Fury, Volgin: all had especially robust boss themes. When replaying MGS3 it’s incredible how much atmosphere and tension the music pumps into the game.

MGSV torture scene to be non-playable.

Anyone have any thoughts?

By the way, I’m on Kojima with this.

That shit sounds like Big Boss is the one that will be doing the torturing.

Rule of MGS: never believe anything Kojima says regarding gameplay. Story is king and gameplay will be sacrificed for it in an MGS game

Peace Walker is the best MG game so far imo. It took the vibe from MGS3 and made it more natural and fun. Plus finally being at the point of controlling Naked Snake at the ascent of his power just made the fanboy in me cry with happiness. Online was bad ass too, and sure as hell made getting the platinum trophy a lot easier ^^

How is BB at the ascent of his power in PW when in MGS3 he was already like 30…

Because he didnt just built his first incarnation of Outer Haven at MGS3, nor was he best buds with Miller. Or have his army.

Only thing I dont like about PW in regards to BB cannon on his rise is the actual PW weapon, seems zanzibar would be rundant if he had access to that tech so early on but meh, I was hype all the same.

Peace Walker got a bad rap. I loved it, I bought it on PS3 in the HD collection awhile back. Sure, you had to grind abit to level your skills properly, but that was part of the fun.

tbh first I heard of it having a bad rap, having played all MG games and all things being fair and equal, PW offered the best experiance to me save perhaps playing MGS 1 for the first time. MGS 3 was uber but hmmm, just didnt have Naked Snake in that same awesome light. I dont know where people would hate on PW, the story?

PW wins hands down on weapons alone ^^

the story is lame in PW, grinding bosses sucked, maps were tiny and too easy to breeze through the game. co op is fun and so is vs when you give it a chance
