So I never followed the games fully even though i played 1-3 and enjoyed the gameplay.

Are the patriots a system of AI at this point in time because if I recall correctly the original members were already dead? They were successfully destroyed in 4 right.
Before 1 they were people then somewhere along the line they went the full A.I route.

Shameless plug aside, yes, the Patriots were destroyed for good at the end of 4. Both the AI and the founding members (Big Boss, Ocelot/Adam, Para-Medic, Sigint, Zero, and Eva)

the games are the same. I only bought it for the DGNs since I never got to see the MGS2 one.
It’s really cool, they play as movies now instead of “click to advance”. They also added voice acting. which is awesome…

the DGNs are an acquired taste. the MGS1 DGN was basically Ash Wood painting over TTS screen shots, whereas in MGS2 it looks like AW scribbled it all with pen. Also, MGS2 is VERRRRYYYY LOOSELY ADAPTED from MGS2 the game. The story is still essentially the same but with a different spin and a few changes, none for the worse. It actually seems at one point like it’s not actually happening at all.
All in all, def worth it for me
I really hate Ashley Woods art style, i had the MGS1 DGN for PSP and it just did nothing for me. It’s cool they added voice work tho.
So many games with Solid. So many games with Big Boss. Guess who’s turn it is now?
Yeah—I can’t wait for the day Kojima goes both feet in and finally commits to a full game with her. As the main character/protagonist.
Going back in time again might suck but I can’t help knowing that it’d probably be as badass as MGS3 was/is.

- handkerchief
- ration
- stealth camo
This is Otacon we’re talking about, so no fancy martial arts shit. And you can’t use the genome soldier’s rifle/weapons against himself.
