Because someone’s voice doesn’t change that dramatically that fast.
I don’t think he needs to eventually sound like him. To me it was a necessary evil so it didn’t sound like 1 guy talking to himself. Hayter will always be choice #1 and I’m still holding out hope, but Cygan is 2nd choice.
If they remake Metal Gear (something I wish they would do), THAT would be the time IMO.

I just realized reason this is happening is most likely because Solid Snake is in the game. Snake will be voiced by Hayter, and Big Boss will probably be voiced by Cygan or Doyle. Maybe he will be voiced by Hayter pre-coma, then voiced by Cygan/Doyle post-coma.

You can’t claim that it’s attracting more attention towards the franchise, as anyone who’s not into MGS can care less about the news.

I agree; Hayter has said so many times “really truly its not an act” that if he WERE to turn around and sa “im jk, im really in!” it’d be beyond the point of being a funny joke.
Why did KojiPro make a big deal out of this, then? They could have just released the game with the VA change without saying a word.
They want the extra attention for some reason, obviously. I’m sure that reason is a troll of some sort, with a “didurikeit?” at the end.
Its quite possible Solid has his own “title” in this game as well. I mean we already have Ground Zero, Phantom Pain and we can probably have another that will have Hayter. So he can technically be right about not being in those two. But I’m not even sure if those titles are even staying or if Kojima is keeping them separate
