Even if future MG games don’t have David as “Solid Snake” he had an amazing run and he can’t do this forever. I feel like we don’t know the whole story behind this decision though. We gotta wait for dat etrue hollywood story.

I think Phantom Pain is going to be an “extended Demo” somewhat like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, as a way for him to test his idea about Demoing games to get further funding for them. Ground Zeros will be the full game proper.
That’s my theory.

I think they’re both going to be full games, it’s just going to take 2 games to tell this part of the MGS story.
