Ocelot had to bring Stillman in to get Fatman to agree. He was part of the simulation, although admittedly he was a loose cannon.

I’ve come to the conclusion that MGS1 is probably the most atmospheric game I’ve ever played, aside from Metroid Prime possibly. Agree or disagree?
I can agree with that, MGS was my fav game of the PS1 era, nostagia wise its probably one of the best games I played, the sequels good or bad were nice but nothing matched dem OG feels on the first playthrough, for me at least I didnt play MG 1+2 until after PW so with MGS everything was new and unexpected, the story was great and despite the walking robot, floating mystic and cyborg, was really believable.
Mgs1 had a great atmosphere. The blustery snowing cold, etc.
Mgs2 had good atmosphere too during tanker chapter, plant chapter was very sterile (which fit the goal of “mgs1 simulator”)
Mgs3 didnt keep the jungle motif long enough for me.
