Metal Gear SOLID Thread: Snake? SNAAAAKE!

Consider Twin Snakes the Anime to MGS1’s Manga. You read the Manga to get the real story but you watch the anime for the action. Same here. You pay MGS1 for the rawness and the atmosphere and everything that came with it. You play Twin Snakes afterwards to see Snake kicking ass in more acrobatic ways.

Dodging missiles with back flips!

-.-

From Dead Cell I only liked Vamp and Fortune. Solidus didn’t really have a prescnece and Fat man was literally just there. But I don’t think anything is topping Foxhound.

Deadcell connected more to me because if managed to sit through a mgs2 cutscene (one of them was 20 minutes long) they go pretty deep on the background of the characters, I feel like fatman should have been grinding and doing backflips if they are going to give him skates. Fatman’s boss battle was pretty boring

Nothing confirmed, but all that “this is the last Metal Gear. Seriously!” talk over the years might be for real this time

Dead Cell

MGS 2 bosses.

The Vamp fight was cool, but man, I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a set of bosses like I have the MGS2 ones.

This really sums up how I feel about Twin Snakes. I also wasn’t a fan of the remixed soundtrack.

I don’t feel like going into detail so I’ll just say that they are shallow and boring in terms of personality and the fights themselves are nothing special.
Personally I only thought the Vamp fight was memorable and fun as well as the fight against the Ray armada, not because of the mechanics themselves but because how over the top that fight is).

Another reason why I hated the game at launch. I mean you had just replayed MGS1 and had all the cool guys like Wolf/Mantis/Gray Fox/Liquid/Ocelot/Raven (ok Raven was not that cool but at least you fought him twice), and then you unpack your fresh MGS2 copy and not only do you find out that the protagonist is an anti-Snake, you also experience that the opposing team is a bunch of boring ass cardboard cutouts with the personalities of bricks.

Jesus.

I still enjoy MGS2 because of the overall story that makes you question reality, overall design and challenge. I mean it was more of the same and MGS1 wasn’t without flaws either, it’s just that we tend to forgive and forget them more because it was the first game that captivated us the way it did, and it’s hard to do that justice.
Personally I wouldn’t be sad if there were no more Metal Gears since the fondness I have for MGS1 is so big that no sequel can ever do it justice.

I’d prefer Kojima to make new games instead of shitting on Solid Snake more xD

With Kojima leaving, I wonder what will happen to Silent Hill 5.

kojima isn’t…dying :sunglasses:

he wont be involved with any mgs games thats all. I am sure he’s still working on sh5 with del toro.

Kojima left Konami.
Silent Hill is property of Konami.
Passing notes isn’t exactly being involved with the project since Kojima was lead director of the project. Silent Hill 5 is kill.

Rising isn’t MGS. Get that BS OUTTA HERE

Kojima left Konami.

WHAT? source?

Wait… aren’t you guys not talking about that?
That shit is big geek gaming news right now. Source is every where.

Here’s some info

RIP MGO… everybody start sending Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaake vodka immediately, nigga aint gonna last 2 seconds when the news lands.

It’s official-- Konami terminated Kojima and his studio.

They opened up hiring for people to form a new team to take Kojipro’s place in developing future metal gear games.

The source is in the general video game discussion thread. On mobile, so not trying to deal with copy paste nonsense on this thing.

But yeah, y’all shouldn’t buy anymore MGS games after TPP. Not going to be developed by Kojima or his team.

This also means that the new Silent Hill game will most likely also be terrible. Wait for trusted reviews before buying.

Damn…no ZOE 3?

The greatest tragedy.

So Kojima got David Hayter’d?
