Im ready to go team.
You guys heard about the Red/Blue Ogre theory? http://www.reddit.com/r/metalgearsolid/comments/294x9h/for_those_who_have_heard_of_it_and_want_the_whole/
The E3 '14 trailer has a bunch of hints alluding to the fable, including red/blue lens flare. Sounds similar to MGS3 if accurate.
Would lick from behind
Also re:mgo team

edit: Old info but this bullshit allowing you to control ghosts as weapons from the silent hill franchise… not sure how I feel about this.
Not sure if these have alredy been mentioned in here but there are figures dropping for MGSV and there’s MGS figures in general for anyone who collects figures or just may want a few from MGS in general. Here’s some links
Yea Play-Arts always does a line of MGS figures.
Never got around to playing a Metal Gear Solid game, but feel like I should (recently found out I really enjoy stealth games).
Are there any games that you guys feel is the “Devil May Cry 2” of the franchise? Don’t wanna waste time playing something more than a decade old that wasn’t that great in hindsight.
MGS1-3 = Games get better each one gameplay wise.
MGS4 = Gameplay is good. Lost the godliness of MGS3 cqc doe.
MGSPW = See MGS4
MGS5 = See MGS4

MGS1-3 is the DMC2 of the MGS universe.
:edit:
I was wondering why I was getting flagged, and now I found out DMC2 is the worst DMC game…mybad, for some reason I thought DMC2 was the best (I’ve never played DMC)
MGS1: GOAT nothing better than it. a bit outdated on the graphical side, play twin snakes if you can
MGS2: youll be forced to think about philosophy more than you expect (or probably will want to) in a video game, but after a few playthroughs youll either come to the realization that MGS2 is absolute prophetic art or youll think its a pile of sanctimonious overrated prention crap.
MGS3: turn your brain off cause this is just a big dumb fun james bond movie wrapped up in metal gear stylings.
MGS4: If you liked MGS2 this game will ruin that for you. If you hated MGS2 then this game will “redeem” it.
MGSPO: a solid story with more interesting characters than what came later (PW) but the gameplay sadly lacks.
MGSPW: better gameplay, worse story. enjoy grinding tank battles to unlock parts for the true metal gear boss fight after you already defeated 3 other metal gears…yeah. oh yeah theres also no human bosses. multiplayer online is a blast tho, even if all youre doing is shooting tranq darts at a tank
MGSGZ: a beautiful 20 dollar demo
oh yeah and no one mentioned it but if you can, get the MGS Legacy collection and watch the digital graphic novels they are a neat new take on the mgs1 and 2 stories (especially the 2nd one!)
MGS: Dated graphics by today’s and most peoples standards but overall the best atmosphere and IMO, the graphics have aged fine due to the art direction in the game. I could still play this today and not have to look past the graphics. My favorite codec screen as well. The best boss battles and set pieces as well.
MGS2: HUGE uptdate in graphics and mechanics, but lost of the cool art style from the first one. My favorite thing about it was the switch-a-roo pulled by Kojima. I went into it blind, with the clerk telling me not to look at the instruction manual. I didn’t think much of it, because I was going into it totally blind with no idea who I was up against. Overall it it was cool but I missed the stylings of the codecs and setting. The bosses were the whackest fucking enemies, ever. My hype was through the roof at the time, and the overall things I liked about MGS in tone and art style fell flat as a result.
MGS3: The closest to the original MGS in everything I liked, but had a nice balance of over the top with grounded feeling. The boss battles were awesome, the stealth was nothing to fuck around with either. The final boss fight was awesome, but Kojima flubbed with what he did if the player takes to long to finish it. There’s a cool message behind it, but it gets lost because of this taunt to the player.
MGS4: I feel like it was a repeat of MGS to MGS2, with tone, settings and bosses. After MGS3, I was pumped, especially with the trailers. I avoided anything related to it for almost 4 years before playing it (house sitting for a friend who owned a PS3).The mechanics were taken from 3 but more iterated on in a more streamlined for the better. New gadgets and new enemies even though a returning character from 2 makes it back in. Overall I was digging it, but afterwards it felt empty. They give you these cool gadgets to mess with like the camo and MKII but not enough room to play with. The bosses were cooler than 2’s but not even close to the ones in MGS or MGS3. They tried, but didn’t hit the mark. At first I put it above MGS2 but below MGS/3, but 2 does some of the cool stuff that the good ones did, while MGS4 relies on a fan service.
MGS 1 should be played even if it runs off a casio and has tetris graphics
MGS 2 imo either play the demo (the best part of it) of bite the bullet and basically play a re run of MGS 2 as the series all star gay lord and find out the tragity of Solidus
MGS 3 unmissable, nuff said buy the HD version for this alone
MGS 4 meh, i have mixed feelings about the closure this gave, good game but cut scene length, fan service, the handling of Snakes character and the ending were all major negatives for me.
MG PO/ hit or miss, if you had a portable back in the day they were great.
MG PW Next to MGS1, this is my favourite game, prime Big Boss as he starts out on his quest towards Outer Haven, get to build a base, micro manage your troops. If you got a buddy to do online this is unmissable if not still a great game, but the bosses were shit and it introduces Paz…
MG GZ Good for what it is, get it on loan theres not a lot going on except to showcase PP and get you used to the mechanics.
um…avoid twin snakes. I wouldnt play that over original mgs1 just because of graphics. then you ruin the best metal gear game.
